In this event, contenders had to negotiate their way through a giant maze, with Gladiators attempting to impede their progress. Rules On the whistle, two contenders starting at different points of entry, had to negotiate their way around a convert 5 ft m adj mid high maze which spanned the arena floor. Inside the maze were four Gladiators armed with blocking pads who had the task of blocking and pushing the contender to stop them reaching the other side along with several dead ends. Gladiators are not allowed to pin down a contender. Contenders had 45 seconds to make their way through to the two exits of the maze, receiving 10 points for the first to make their way through and 5 for second place. Contenders had to have both feet off the Maze platform before time expired to be considered out. Event History America Years active 1991 1993 The Maze was introduced for the third series of American Gladiators, lasting for two years. As certain panels were often interchangeable, indicated by their low profile, in contrast to the taller, permanent walls, the maze itself was different every time. 1. Moonlight Maze

The name Moonlight Maze refers to an incident in which U.S. officials accidentally discovered a pattern of probing of computer systems at The Pentagon , NASA , United States Department of Energy , private universities, and research labs that had begun in March 1998 and had been going on for nearly two years. Sources report that the invaders were systematically marauding through tens of thousands of files including maps of military installations, troop configurations and military hardware designs. The United States Department of Defense traced the trail back to a mainframe computer in the former Soviet Union but the sponsor of the attacks is unknown and Russia denies any involvement.
