In 1918 he was relocated to Stockholm and served as a minister at Hedvig Eleonora Church where he became the parish vicar in 1934. In that capacity he also served as a royal chaplain to the Swedish royal court. He was married to nurse Karin kerblom. Ingmar Bergman later wrote the semi biographical script about his parents complex courtship in The Best Intentions , a story that includes the unhappy early years of their marriage up to the point where the mother is pregnant with her second son, effectively Ingmar himself. ErikBergman was a rather strict family father and his complex relationship with his son is a somber theme in Ingmar Bergman movies such as Fanny and Alexander . ErikBergman died in Stockholm in 1970. Bergman s style ranged widely, from Romanticism in his early works many of which he later prohibited from being performed to modernism and primitivism , among other genres. He won the Nordic Council Music Prize in 1994 for his opera Det sjungande tr det opera Det sjungande tr det . Bergman studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and afterwards with Heinz Tiessen in Berlin and with Wladimir Vogel in Ascona . Since 1963 he taught composition at the Sibelius Academy, besides working until 1978 as a choir conductor. Bergman is considered a pioneer of modern music in Finland. Because of his training he was considered as a representative of the avant garde he developed for example the twelve tone techniques of Arnold Schoenberg Arnold Sch nberg learned from Wladimir Vogel. He composed song cycles, cantatas, a violin concerto, pieces for piano and for organ, a guitar suite, a chamber concert for flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, violin, viola, cello, percussion and piano and further chamber works. Hjalmar Fredrik Elg rus Bergman 19 September 1883 in rebro , Sweden 1 January 1931 in Berlin , Germany was a Sweden Swedish writer and playwright. The son of a banker in rebro , Bergman briefly studied philosophy at Uppsala University but soon broke off his studies and took up the life of a free writer. He married Stina Lindberg, the daughter of actor and stage producer August Lindberg . Up to his father s death in 1915 Bergman was heavily sponsored by the family patriarch after the old man died from a stroke it turned out that the family business had become highly indebted and Bergman was forced to start making money out of his writing and court readers in a more outgoing and more entertaining manner. He rose to the challenge and in the following ten years reached the peak of his work. Much of his output takes place in a small town in mid Sweden, which is growing into a parallel universe in a Balzacian manner. The shameful secrets of a dozen of interwoven families gradually come out of the closet as the stories grow increasingly symbolic. A pessimistic outlook is always counter balanced by a grotesque humour indeed in a book like Markurells i Wadk ping the latter almost succeeds in completely shading the former.
