Two of the creations are extant as of 2007. The Grey Baronetcy , of Chillingham in the County of Northumberland, was created in the Baronetage of England on 15 June 1619 for William Grey. For more information on this creation, see Baron Grey of Werke . The Grey Baronetcy , of Howick in the County of Northumberland, was created in the Baronetage of Great Britain on 11 January 1746 for Henry Grey. He was a descendant of an uncle of the first Baronet of the 1619 creation. Henry Grey s third son, the third Baronet, had already been created Earl Grey when he succeeded his elder brother in 1808.     The Edward Grey Institute of Field Ornithology EGI , at Oxford University , England is an academic body which conducts research in ornithology and the general field of evolutionary ecology and conservation biology , with an emphasis on understanding organisms in natural environments. It is named in honour of Edward Grey, 1st Viscount Grey of Fallodon , a notable politician and ornithologist. The Institute houses the Alexander Library, the best ornithological library in Europe and one of the best in the world, which is named after Wilfred Backhouse Alexander W. B. Alexander . History The Edward Grey Institute EGI was founded in 1938, having grown out of the Oxford Bird Census, itself founded in 1927. It was the brainchild of Max Nicholson , Bernard Tucker , and Wilfred Backhouse Alexander Wilfred W. B. Alexander , and was initially founded to promote the economic study of ornithology. It took its name from Edward Grey Viscount Grey , at one time Chancellor of the University and UK Foreign Secretary, and a life long birdwatcher, perhaps best known as the man who remarked, on the eve of the First World War The lamps are going out all over Europe we shall not see them lit again in our lifetime The first Director of the fledgling Institute was Wilfred Backhouse Alexander W.B. Alexander , remembered in the name of the EGI s library, the Alexander Library. Lack served as Director until his death in 1973, working with field assistants such as Denis Owen , and oversaw the growth of the EGI into an internationally known centre for research in to population biology of birds. His younger brother was the eccentric, Stephen Tennant . He was educated at Winchester College , which he left aged 17. He joined the Grenadier Guards . He was known to friends and family as Bim . It is unknown where this nickname derives from. It has been suggested that he was engaged at one point to Nancy Cunard . That this is untrue has been confirmed by two reliable sources Colin Tennant, 3rd Baron Glenconner, who responded to this question by letter, and Lois Gordon, Nancy Cunard s biographer, who, in her extensive research, never came across any hint of such an alliance.     Sir Hubert Edward Henry Jerningham , Order of St Michael and St George KCMG , Deputy Lieutenant DL 1842 1914 was United Kingdom British Liberal Party UK Liberal Party politician and Governor of Trinidad and Tobago between 1897 and 1900. He was Member of Parliament MP for Berwick upon Tweed UK Parliament constituency Berwick upon Tweed from 1881 to 1885. While he was governor of Trinidad and Tobago, the Trinidad Government Railway was extended from Cunupia to Tabaquite . The railway junction formed by this extension was named Jerningham Junction . He also instituted an award for the top student in the Island Scholarship examinations, a gold medal called the Jerningham Medal today known as the President s Medal .
