During his time at school, he met LiXianting who was going to be a famously critic and was introduced into watercolors, oil paints and ink. Fang Lijun decided to leave high school to continue pursuing his artistic dream. He made a decision to go to Hebei Light Industry Technology school to study ceramics for three years. However, Fang Lijun did not want to stop right there. Instead of having an intellectual job in ceramics department, he prepared himself to take the entrance exam to enroll at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing.
