He received degrees in painting and sculpture from the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts and a degree in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome . He held six exhibition for sculpture and five exhibitions for paintings in Rome, Baghdad and Beirut . He is the winner of first prize for Arab artists in Italy . He is a member of Baghdad group 1957 and the Al Zawia group. Fatah teaches sculpture at the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts. Fatah is also known for bronze statues of Marouf Al Rasafi , an Iraqi nationalist poet of the 1940s, of the Abbasid poet Abu Nuwas , and of Abbasid painter Al Wasety . He has designed and executed several monuments and statues in Baghdad, the most famous of which is the turquoise blue split dome of the Al Shaheed Monument Martyrs Monument , completed in 1983. While living and working in Qatar , Fatah contracted cancer . He returned to Baghdad where he died 21 July 2004.     The Fatah Hawks is the name of two Palestinian territories Palestinian militant groups. One is a popular movement of Palestinian youth in the West Bank and Gaza in the 1980s. The other is an offshoot of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades which has links to the dominant Fatah movement. The group has carried out attacks against Israel i military personnel in the Gaza Strip . During the First Intifada that started in 1987, the Hawks were led by young Palestinians in the large cities of Nablus , Tulkarm , Ramallah and Bethlehem in the West Bank, and Gaza City and Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. Most of their attacks were carried out using improvised weapons stone throwing, stabbing attacks, and use of stolen firearms. The amount of weaponry that they received from PLO sources outside of Israel was negligible, and most of their successes were in the use of stabbing attacks or roadside amnbushes of Israeli soldiers in the occupied Palestinian Territory. Citation needed date February 2007 Leaders of the hitherto secret organization Harakat Tahrir , among them its founder Muhammad Bassiri , called a demonstration to hand a petition calling for independence and fair treatment for Sahrawi people Sahrawis to the Spanish governor general of the colony, General Jos Mar a P rez de Lema y Tejero . They were allowed to read out the petition, but as the demonstration was dispersing, police moved in to arrest its leaders. Demonstrators responded by pushing the policemen away and when the police charged with batons, stone throwing erupted. The Spanish authorities called in the Spanish Foreign Legion who opened fire on the demonstrators, killing at least eleven and wounding scores. Hundreds of people were arrested.
