The Duncan Commission of enquiry was established in 1926 by Prime Minister of Canada Prime Minister William Lyon MacKenzie King MacKenzie King to address the issues raised by the Maritime Rights Movement. It made recommendations to lower tariffs, decrease freight rates, and change other federal policies to help the regional economy, however few of these recommendations were ever implemented as King largely ignored the commission Notes references Further reading Ernest R. Carers, and family caregivers, refer to the care of people with disabilities by unpaid relatives or friends. Unpaid carers are also incorrectly referred to as voluntary caregivers, and informal carers but these classifications have been criticized as a misnomer since caring for a relative or friend is normally neither voluntary nor informal.
