School of Life is a 2003 7 minute short film. Plot summary Two kids debate about if they should go to school or not. One of the kids, Stanley, decides to go to school because they might actually learn something this time which makes the other kid shrug and walk away. His teacher, Miss Given, hands out the answers to everything and the only problem is that he has to share his copy with a school bully named Garth. Reception An Iofilm review says, This is neatly shot and well acted but it isn t particularly memorable. Also, what is with these character names? When was the last time you met a school kid named Stanley? And, more importantly, why give the teacher a name that seems to have escaped from Pilgrim s Progress? Grumbles aside, you should watch it, you might just learn something. ref http www.iofilm.co.uk fm s school of life 2003.shtml Iofilm ref It won a British Independent Film Awards BIFA award for Best British Short Film in 2004. ref http bifa.org.uk films school life BIFA ref References reflist External links http www.bbc.co.uk filmnetwork films p0058x2j Watch the film on BBC Film Network Category British films Category 2003 films Category British short films short film stub ... more details

The Barcelona School was a 1960s group of Catalan filmmakers, concerned with the disruption of daily life by the unexpected, whose stylistic affinities lie with the pop art movement of the same years. Their aim was to move away from the social realist films that had become associated with the New Spanish Cinema. They took cues from the French New Wave. The most important representative of the Barcelona School of Film was Vicente Aranda with his film Fata Morgana 1965 . From the so called Escuela de Barcelona , originally more experimentalist and cosmopolitan, come Vicente Aranda , Jaime Camino , and Gonzalo Su rez , who made their master works in the 1980s.
