  1. Fundamental Epistle

The Fundamental Epistle , or Epistle of Foundation , Latin Epistola Fundamenti , was one of the sacred writings of the Manichaean religion, written by the founder Mani prophet Mani c. 210 276 CE , originally in Syriac . Since none of the original Syriac writings of Manichaeism remain, we only have translations of small sections of this book, made by either Manichaeans or anti Manichaeans. One of the most well known references to this book is found in the writings of Saint Augustine 354 430 CE , who before converting to Christianity, was a Manichaean hearer for a number of years. 1. The Epistle to the Romans (Barth)

The Epistle to the Romans is a commentary by Swiss theologian Karl Barth on the New Testament Epistle to the Romans . First written in 1919, and later modified in 1922, Epistle to the Romans is significant as Barth s first major work, defined by his reaction against German Protestant Liberalism. Protestant Liberal theology played a significant role in the rise of German nationalism prior to World War I, leading to Barth s disillusionment and attempts to restructure Protestant theology. This work, like many of his others, emphasizes the saving grace of God and the insufficiency of human understanding to define Him. Specifically, the God who is revealed in the cross of Jesus challenges and overthrows any attempt to ally God with human cultures, achievements, or possessions. 1. Epistle of the Corinthians to Paul

The Epistle of the Corinthians to Paul is a work from the New Testament apocrypha , and originally formed part of the Acts of Paul , though it was later detached and circulated separately. This writing claims to describe the teachings of Simon Magus , including the ideas that God was not almighty, that the Resurrection of Jesus resurrection was false, that Christ was not truly bodily incarnated God i.e. Docetism , that angels made the world see Demiurge , and that the prophets were inaccurate. A response to this letter from Paul also appears in the Acts of Paul and is known as the Third Epistle to the Corinthians . Such an appeal to combat heresy is likely the work of an orthodox forger, attempting to create a biblical basis for their counter arguments to their docetic and gnosticism gnostic enemies.
