The first association football organisation was the Western Australian British Football Association, established in 1896. Football West was formed in 2004. That organisation is responsible for organising the West Australia n domestic competition and junior teams within that state. Football West s premier competition is the Western Australia State League . National Representation In 1994, a group of businessmen led by Joe Claudio formed the Perth Kangaroos IFC . The club competed in the 1994 Singapore Premier League . The Kangaroos finished the league season undefeated and easily won the Singapore league title. However, with dwindling support and resources, the experiment proved to be a financial disaster and Perth Kangaroos IFC soon folded.
