Stanley Sadler Crick 9 October 1888 1955 was an Australian film producer, distributor and politician. He joined the Melbourne office of Pathe Freres and became manager of the Sydney branch in 1909. He went into production, first in partnership with Herbert Finlay then helping establish the Australian Photo Play Company . When that ended in 1912 he went into distribution as managing director of the express Film Service and in 1914 became partner of John C. Jones in another distribution service. He managed Fox Film Corporation s Australian operation from 1919 to 1938, during that time also serving as a chairman of director of Hoyts Theatres. It was located to the eastern side of where the railway crossed the A5 road just west of the present Daventry International Railfreight Terminal . It was located some distance from the villages it was named after, especially Crick whch was several miles away. The station was opened along with the line in 1881 in rail transport 1881 , by the London and North Western Railway which became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway during the Railways Act 1921 Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to the London Midland Region of British Railways on nationalisation in 1948. The station closed to passengers on 1 February 1960 in rail transport 1960 and to goods on 6 July 1964. Most of the station was demolished, but part of the goods platform to the west of the A5 still survives. Expert subject Biology date November 2008 The Crick, Brenner, Barnett, Watts Tobin experiment of 1961 was a scientific experiment performed in 1961 by FrancisCrick , Sydney Brenner , Leslie Barnett and R.J. Watts Tobin. They demonstrated that three bases of DNA code for one amino acid in the genetic code . The experiment elucidated the nature of gene expression and frameshift mutation s. In the experiment, proflavin induced mutation s of the T4 phage T4 bacteriophage gene, rIIB, were isolated. Proflavin causes mutations by inserting itself between DNA bases, typically resulting in insertion or deletion of a single base pair. The mutants produced by Crick and Brenner could not produce functional rIIB protein because the insertion or deletion of a single nucleotide caused a frameshift mutation . Mutants with two or four nucleotides inserted or deleted were also nonfunctional. However, the mutant strains could be made functional again by using proflavin to insert or delete a total of three nucleotides. This proved that the genetic code uses a codon of three DNA bases that corresponds to an amino acid .
