Main Medieval Scandinavian laws The Gray Grey GooseLaws lang is Gr g s were a collection of laws from the Icelandic Commonwealth period. The term Gr g s was originally used in a medieval source to refer to a collection of Norwegian laws and was probably mistakenly used to describe the existing collection of Icelandic law during the sixteenth century. The Gr g s laws in Iceland were presumably in use until 1262 1264 when Iceland was taken over by the Norwegian crown. The term Gray Grey GooseLaws, used to describe the laws of the Icelandic Commonwealth by the 16th century, may refer to the following the fact that the laws were written with a goose quill, the fact that the laws were bound in goose skin, or because of the age of the laws it was then believed that geese lived longer than other birds. The existing Icelandic Commonwealth laws that now exist as the Gr g s never actually existed in one complete volume during medieval times. The Gr g s does not contain a unified body of law, as arguably one never existed in the Icelandic commonwealth. Instead, the Gr g s was derived from two smaller, fragmentary volumes known as the Konungsb k, presumably written around 1260, and Sta arh lsb k ... created for a wealthy, literate man, though scholars cannot be certain. Color Gray Species Goose Sex Gelding Born 1970, County Clare , Ireland Breed Thoroughbred Irish Horse Irish Sport Horse Breeding by Hill Tarquin , by Hill Gale Rider Kim Walnes Kim Walnes first met The GrayGoose at a local riding stable in Ireland, when he was a three year old. They were separated for two years, during which time the horse was started under saddle, and fox hunted, where he fell and injured his knees. As a five year old, Kim began riding him, and she bought him a year later and returned with him to the United States. Gray was a nervous horse who hated to be ridden, and would regularly bolt and buck off his rider. Working slowly, Walnes gained his trust and respect. However, it was not until their first eventing event in the spring 1976, during the cross country phase, that Gray grew to enjoy his time out riding. Although Kim Walnes and her mount never had regular lessons, the managed to work up the levels.
