The house was built in the 18th century by the Prince Bishop of Li ge , Franz Karl, Count of Velbr ck 1719 1784 . As a humanist and nature lover he chose this spot in the scenic Haspengouw region on which to build his country house and to lay out a number of gardens, including a Chinese garden, a kitchen garden and a rose garden. Later he added one of first landscaped parks on the European mainland, inspired by the English landscaping of Capability Brown . The bishop died here in 1784. The estate is now in the possession of the d Ursel family. The rose garden contains an exceptional assortment of varieties, of which the oldest were present in the original garden. The gardens and the park are open to the public on selected weekends during the summer months. It was the first album to feature both Karl Burns and Paul Hanley in a two drummer lineup and was partly recorded in Iceland during the group s 1981 visit, with the remainder being completed in a disused cinema in Hitchin , England. A single, Look, Know I m Into Citizens band radio C.B. , was recorded contemporaneously but not included on the album, standard practice for the group until 1986. Mark E. Unreferenced date January 2008 Hex The Legend of the Towers is an attraction designed by John Wardley at UK theme park Alton Towers . It opened in 2000 and features a walkthrough of part of the genuine ruins of the Towers themselves, an interpretation of an old local legend, and a finale featuring a Vekoma Madhouse ride. Attraction theme The theme of the attraction is loosely set around the local legend of the Chained oak found at Alton, in which the 15th Earl of Shrewsbury was cursed by an old beggarwoman to suffer a death in the family every time a branch fell from the Oak old oak tree . Hex s version embellishes the end of the original tale with the Earl experimenting on one of the fallen branches in a vault deep within the Towers themselves, and it is this vault, with its entrance bricked up behind a bookcase, that has supposedly been sealed up for two centuries and only recently discovered during renovation work. The Armoury and Cinema The attraction starts in the real Armory military armoury of the Towers, decorated with scaffolding and artefacts, which starts to tell the story of the renovation and the discovery of the vault, through video screens found along the twisting atmospheric queue line. Statues draped in dust sheets decorate plinths high up near the darkened ceiling and sound effects of chiselling can be heard to give the suggestion that this renovation is currently ongoing and unfinished.
