About the book the band of the same name The Fling band The Fling is the 38th book in the Hank the Cowdog book series. Plot Starts with Hank and Drover being overrun by steers. Later on Hank begins talking to a still asleep Drover who says he wants to be a truck . Later that day Hank and Drover urinate on the tires of cow shipping truck. Somehow or other Hank gets trapped on the truck and the Cattle Terminology steer s bully him by stepping on his tail and paws. Hank is able to get off the truck once it reaches town. In town Hank knocks over a trash can and begins eating trash, then the dog catcher catches him. At the dog pound Hank meets his old basset hound friend, Ralph. At the dog pound they talk about going on the fling . The two dogs escape from the dog pound cause chaos in the street. They escape from the dog catcher, and decide to steal hot dogs. They are able to steal the hot dogs and Ralph escapes, but a large black labrador , Attila, chases after Hank and they put up a staged fight, but then Hank insults Attila s mother and Attila nearly kills him. The Last Fling is a 1987 romantic comedy that stars John Ritter and Connie Selleca . Attorney Phillip Reed Ritter is tired of one night stands. He then meets a woman at the zoo. The Woman is Gloria Selleca who s getting married the next week. When she meets Phillip she lies to him and tells him her name is Marsha Lyons. The two hit it off right away and Gloria Marsha tells Phillip she ll call him. Gloria Marsha doesn t plan on ever calling him back, but when she calls her soon to be groom up and a woman, presumably whom he slept with answers ,Gloria Marsha decides to call Phillip and asks him to go to Mexico with her. The two have an adventure getting there when the car they rented breaks down and catches fire. Then they hitch a ride with some local farm workers. Finally they make it to a beautiful home which is owned by Gloria Marsha s parents. They have a blast in Mexico dining and dancing, eventually winding up in bed together. The next morning Phillip gets up looking for Gloria Marsha who s already left. Phillip finds out via a videotape explanation left by Gloria Marsha that she s getting married tomorrow and that he was supposed to be her last fling. Phillip then tries to find her. When he finally does, he tries to stop the wedding and convince Gloria that they belong together. In the end, Gloria leaves her groom at the altar and her and Phillip go for a walk in the zoo where they first met.
