primarysources date March 2009 Hoods is a hardcore punk band from Sacramento, California . Formed in 1994 by Mike Hood Mraz who later added Logan Murray, Tony Goodloe and Billy Gaffney. Hoods shows influences such as Madball , Sick of It All , Minor Threat and Cro Mags . They released their first Extended play EP entitled Once Again in 1996 and concentrated on live performances. After numerous fights between fans and an altercation between a couple of the band members and a police officer, the band was more or less forced out of the Sacramento area. The band concentrated efforts on the San Francisco Bay Area playing shows with groups such as Powerhouse, Redemption 87 and Skin Lab . In 1997 after a disagreement with bandmates and his mother s illness Gaffney left and was replaced by Jeremy. Murray and Goldoe then left and were replaced by Ben and Mario. Mike was the only original member left. The Hoods were dropped from Victory Records . They signed with Eulogy Recordings in 2005 and released The King Is Dead . The group released a new album, Ghetto Blaster , on April 24, 2007. The newest release Pit Beast dropped in late May 2009. Hilltop is a rural community in the Rural Municipality of Clanwilliam and is a mixed agricultural area. The Hilltop Reservation is a nature preserve located in Essex County, New Jersey , in the host communities of Cedar Grove, New Jersey Cedar Grove , North Caldwell, New Jersey North Caldwell and Verona, New Jersey Verona . It has over convert 200 acre km2 , and is the most recent addition to the Essex County Parks System. It is composed of lands formerly occupied by the Essex Mountain Sanatorium, a hospital center originally constructed in the early 1900s to treat tuberculosis patients. Hilltop Reservation is located on the Second Watchung Mountain, one of three Watchung Mountains which are long, low ridges of volcanic origin in northern New Jersey. History The land was designated a Conservation Easement in 2001 by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection , permanently dedicating it for conservation and passive recreation purposes, and thereby protecting it from any future development. In 2003, additional area was dedicated, bringing the Reservation s total to convert 284.16 acre km2 . This addition to the County s official New Jersey Green Acres Recreation and Open Space Inventory brings the current total area of the Essex County Parks System to convert 6010.52 acre km2 . The term is derived from the German, Gipfelburg , which is one of a number of terms used to classify castles by topology. The chief advantage of such a strategically selected site was its inaccessibility. The steep flanks of the hill made assaults on the castle difficult or, depending on the terrain, even impossible. In addition, it often commanded excellent fields of view and fire over the surrounding countryside. The sheer height of the castle above the local area could also protect the occupants of the castle from bombardment. In addition, the prominent location of such a castle enhanced its status as a residence. Nevertheless hilltop castles presented their logistic difficulties. Without sufficiently strong pumps, water supply could be problematic if there was no well in the vicinity. The transport of food, working animals and other goods was also made more difficult by the location and the adverse weather usually found on hilltops made living conditions in such a castle less comfortable. Another problem was the isolation of such castles. The withdrawal of armed foot soldiers into the castle was hampered by the terrain all the more so for cavalry.
