    For the Quebec lawyer, judge and MLA for Deux Montagnes Charles Champagne MLA for Deux Montagnes Charles Champagne July 25, 1849 &ndash September 21, 1925 was a lawyer and political figure in Quebec . He represented Hochelaga provincial electoral district Hochelaga in the Legislative Assembly of Quebec from 1888 to 1890 as a Quebec Liberal Party Liberal . His name also appears as Charles Laplante dit Champagne . He was born in Mirabel, Quebec Saint Augustin , Canada East , the son of Charles Laplante dit Champagne and Marie Brien dit Desrochers. He was educated at the Coll ge de Sainte Th r se and the Coll ge de Terrebonne. For a time, Champagne served as the personal secretary for Louis Riel . He was admitted to the Quebec bar in 1873 and set up practice in Sainte Scholastique, Quebec Sainte Scholastique . Champagne was married twice to Mary Jessey Fletcher in 1873 and to Mary Louisa Fletcher, his first wife s sister, in 1883. Champagne was an unsuccessful candidate for the Hochelaga seat in 1886, losing to Joseph Octave Villeneuve , but was elected in an 1888 by election held after Villeneuve s election was appealed. He was defeated by Villeneuve when he ran for reelection in 1890. Champagne was registrar for Montr al Est, Quebec Montr al Est from 1890 to 1922. He served on the town council for Rigaud, Quebec Rigaud from 1899 to 1906 and from 1910 to 1913 and was mayor in 1913. Champagne died in Montreal at the age of 76 and was buried at Rigaud. Village by Village provide rural Ghanaian communities with Water well wells , latrine s, and education scholarship s. Village by Village intends to reach 100 villages by 2016 with clean drinking water , education for children and sanitation . Village by Village began in 2006 after the CEO Neil Kerfoot went to Ghana to dig a well with WaterAid . Upon his return to the UK Neil decided to give up his job as a deputy CEO for a not for profit education company and set up Village by Village. The first project was to build an information centre and Library for the village of Gboloo Kofi, in the Eastern Region Ghana Eastern Region of Ghana. The construction was undertaken by the community and a team of UK volunteers who applied to come to Ghana through Village by Village s volunteering arm GapMonth. This was completed in December 2007. Village by Village has also appealed to UK entrepreneur s to challenge them to solve the problems of poverty using their business acumen . In August 2007 the charity launched MillionairesMonth which offers business leader with annual revenue turnover of over 1million to help Ghanaian communities in need.
