    The Ramon Margalef Prize in Ecology lang ca Premi Ramon Margalef d Ecologia is a prize awarded annually to recognize an exceptional scientific career or discovery in the field of ecology or other environmental science. The award was created to honor the life and work of Dr. Ramon Margalef 1919 2004 , one of the founding fathers of modern ecology and one of the most distinguished Spanish scientists of the twentieth century. The award has been presented every year since 2004 and comes with an honorarium of Euro 80,000 and a sculpture representing a microalga, called Picarola margalefii .     The Warner T. Koiter Medal was established in 1996 by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers . It is awarded in recognition of distinguished work in the field of solid mechanics . The Drucker Medal is conferred in recognition of distinguished contributions to the fields of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering . The award is given in honor of Daniel C. Drucker , who was internationally known for contributions to the theory of Plasticity physics plasticity and its application to analysis and design in metal structures. The recipient is given a medal and an honorarium. Nomination procedure The Drucker Medal Committee consists of the five recent Drucker Medalists, the five members of the executive committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME International Applied Mechanics Division AMD , and the five recent past chairs of the AMD. Upon receiving recommendations from the international community of applied mechanics, the Committee nominates a single medalist every year. This nomination is subsequently approved by the ASME no case has been reported that the ASME has ever overruled a nomination of the Drucker Medal Committee.
