He is associate professor in the Goldstein Goren Department of Jewish Thought at Ben Gurion University in the Negev. Biography Boaz Huss was born in Jerusalem, in 1959. He studied Philosophy and History of Jewish Thought at the Hebrew University , and earned his PhD in 1993. Since 1996 he teaches at the Goldstein Goren department of Jewish Thought at Ben Gurion University. Scholarship Huss studies the history of Kabbalah from a cultural studies perspective. Henry Holden Huss Newark, New Jersey , June 21, 1862 New York City , September 17, 1953 was an United States American composer , pianist and music teacher. Huss grew up in New York City, the son of German immigrant parents. After studying piano and organ locally with a teacher who had trained at the Leipzig Conservatory , Huss traveled to Munich to study at the Royal Conservatory with Josef Rheinberger . After graduating, he returned to the States and embarked on a career as a touring piano virtuoso. As a composer, he was regarded as one of the best of his generation by those who counted, but unfortunately, it was at a time when American composers could rarely get a hearing for their works. His 1886 Piano Trio in d minor, Op.23, subtitled The Munich and dedicated to Rheinberger, was premiered with considerable acclaim and a number of other performances followed. However, the work remained unpublished until 2008 when Edition Silvertrust brought out the world premiere edition. It was edited by Skyler Silvertrust and The Rawlins Piano Trio, who in 2004 made the world premiere recording of it. Huss String Quartet, Op.31, dedicated to Mrs. Frederick Coolidge, was published in 1921 by G. Schirmer Inc., New York, for the Society for the Publication of American Music S.P.A.M. . This installation is enhanced with the use of water effects A Topple Tower is an amusement ride produced by HUSS Park Attractions . Design and operation The Topple Tower consists of a single 40 person circular gondola, centred around an 18 metre tower. Passengers sit in the gondola, facing outward. When the ride cycle is started, the gondola is raised towards the top of the tower, and begins to rotate at between 9 and 11 revolutions per minute rpm . When the rotating gondola reaches the top of the tower, the tower itself begins to rock back and forth. Incidents On June 16, 2007, the Topple Tower installation Known as Timber Tower at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee Pigeon Forge , Tennessee , USA became stuck after a faulty safety sensor engaged. The tower was in an upright position with the gondola at the top. The safety system would not let operators override the sensor, leaving 40 passengers stranded on the ride, some for as many as 3 hours. The Huss Swing Around is an amusement park ride manufacturered by Huss. It rotates in a circle, and the arms swing out, and then come in. They keep on doing this during the ride until the very end, where they all swing out, using hydraulic pressure. Most parks require riders to be 42 inches tall to ride anyone under 48 inches tall must ride with an adult. Seats This ride has 14 seats which can fit two people at most. These rides have a metal bar that goes over both, or single riders. Some rides also have a seatbelt for extra protection, and there are no seat dividers. The Look The ride itself looks circular with the bottom of it smaller than the top. Some of these rides actually have lights on them, and very little theming to them. However, the ride at Six Flags Great America called Ricochet has black and white spots on it along with compasses. The cars are also cow like.
