Unreferenced date April 2009 Fulginiae or Fulginium modern Foligno was an ancient town of Umbria , Italy , on the later line of the Via Flaminia , c. 20  km S of Nuceria Nocera Umbra . It appears to have been of comparatively late origin, inasmuch as it had no city walls, but, in imperial times especially, owing to its position on the new line of the Via Flaminia, it must have increased in importance as being the point of departure of roads to Perusia and to Picenum over the pass of Plestia . It appears to have had an amphitheatre, and three bridges over the Topino river are attributed to the Roman period. Five kilometers to the north lay the independent community of Forum Flaminii , the site of which is marked by the small town of San Giovanni Profiamma, at or near which the newer line of the Via Flaminia rejoined the older. It was no doubt founded by the builder of the road, Gaius Flaminius , consul in 220 BC . for the New Zealand politician Bill English The English Bill was an offer made by the United States Congress to Kansas Territory . Kansas was offered some millions of acres of public land s in exchange for accepting the Lecompton Constitution . The English Bill was not a bribe to the degree that it has usually been considered to be, inasmuch as it reduced the grant of land demanded by the Lecompton Ordinance from 23,500,000 to 3,500,000 acres 95,100 to 14,200  km , and offered only the normal cession to new states. But this grant of 3,500,000 acres 14,200  km was conditioned on the acceptance of the Lecompton Constitution, and Congress made no promise of any grant if that Constitution were not adopted. The bill was introduced by William Hayden English 1822 1896 , a United States Democratic Party Democratic United States House of Representatives representative in Congress from 1853 to 1861. On the August 21, 1858, by a vote of 11812 1926, Kansas resisted this temptation. ref cite book last Freehling first William title The Road to Disunion Volume II year 2007 publisher Oxford University Press location New York pages 142 ref References reflist 1911 Category Kansas Territory US hist stub ja ... more details

Affinities Antinaturalism is also closely linked to Gender equality anti sexist and gay liberation movements, in part a reaction against religious fundamentalism fundamentalists who justify male subjugation of women, social exclusion of homosexuality , and the primacy of a gender binary featuring patriarchal men, maternal women, and no room for weakness or disability , as expressions of Natural law . Wikify date November 2011 Blyth Priory was a priory in Nottinghamshire , England . The monastery lay on the north side, separated from the church by the cloisters and garth or open area, and the hall covers the site of some of the domestic monastic buildings. As a daughter house of St. Katharine s Trinity at Rouen, its priors were long appointed by that house and many of the monks were Frenchmen, sent hither, it was reputed, by way of punishment. They fared ill from cold and wet, and an Archbishop suggested that five years should therefore be the limit of their stay. Under lax rule they were troublesome, and the prior at Rouen was invited to send no more unless they were more orderly. It has been suggested that the priory was established with a view of its brethren ministering to those wounded in the jousts and performing the last rites to such as died, but this is open to question inasmuch as it was not until more than a century after its foundation that the tournament field was licensed. It is possible, however, that as Norman knights were fond of jousting there may have been knightly contests here in de Busli s lifetime. Le Riche v Hamman , ref 1946 AD 648. ref an important case in South African contract law , was heard in the Appellate Division in 1946, with Watermeyer CJ, Tindall JA and Greenberg JA presiding. Facts The plaintiff claimed transfer of a piece of land, alleging that the defendant had purchased from him another piece of land, and that both pieces had been transferred to the defendant in error. The defendant pleaded that both pieces of land had been purchased by him and that, in any event, he was unable to transfer the former piece as it had since been sold and transferred to a third party. The trial court found that only the one piece of land had been sold to the defendant that when defendant sold the other piece he knew that it had been transferred to him in error and that, consequently, he was liable for the value of the land, which the court fixed at 1,250, and damages in the sum of 135. The defendant appealed and the plaintiff cross appealed against the valuation placed on the property. Judgment The court held that, inasmuch as the contract for the sale of the land had been reduced to writing in a broker s note signed by the parties, and inasmuch as the description of the land therein was unambiguous, evidence was not admissible of prior discussions and correspondence to show that what was in fact sold was both pieces of land. The court held further, on the facts, that the plaintiff had furnished an acceptable explanation of how the mistake in the transfer had arisen. It was not necessary for the plaintiff to prove that the defendant knew throughout that he had bought only the one piece of land. As his claim was a conidictio indebiti , he was entitled to the property upon proof that there was no legal or natural obligation to give transfer, and that transfer had been made by mistake unless the defendant proved that he had sold it under the bona fide belief that it was due to him, in which case he nevertheless would have to account for the price which he had receiv ... more details

otheruses Yes and no disambiguation Yes and No is a spoken word game similar to Twenty Questions played in Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol . In the game, the host Fred in A Christmas Carol has something in mind, and the guessers party guests ask several simple yes or no questions. In A Christmas Carol , Scrooge is the object, as seen in the section below Excerpt It was a Game called Yes and No, where Scrooge s nephew had to think of something, and the rest must find out what he only answering to their questions yes or no, as the case was. The brisk fire of questioning to which he was exposed, elicited from him that he was thinking of an animal, a live animal, rather a disagreeable animal, a savage animal, an animal that growled and grunted sometimes, and talked sometimes, and lived in London, and walked about the streets, and wasn t made a show of, and wasn t led by anybody, and didn t live in a menagerie, and was never killed in a market, and was not a horse, or an ass, or a cow, or a bull, or a tiger, or a dog, or a pig, or a cat, or a bear. At every fresh question that was put to him, this nephew burst into a fresh roar of laughter and was so inexpressibly tickled, that he was obliged to get up off the sofa and stamp. At last the plump sister, falling into a similar state, cried out I have found it out I know what it is, Fred I know what it is What is it? cried Fred. It s your Uncle Scro o o o oge Which it certainly was. Admiration was the universal sentiment, though some objected that the reply to Is it a bear? ought to have been Yes inasmuch as an answer in the negative was sufficient to have diverted their thoughts from Mr. Scrooge, supposing they had ever had any tendency that way.
