position of the Australian government. The Liberal government was opposed to any Incomespolicy ...The Prices and Incomes Accord was an agreement between the Australian Council of Trade Unions and the Australian Labor Party government of Prime Minister of Australia Prime Minister Bob Hawke and Treasurer of Australia Treasurer later Prime Minister Paul Keating . Employers were not party to the Accord. Unions agreed to restrict wage demands and the government pledged to minimise inflation. The government was also to act on the social wage. At its broadest this concept included increased spending on education as well as welfare. This was seen as a method to reduce inflation without reducing the living standards of Australians. At the beginning of the Accord, only one union, the Australian Nursing Federation New South Wales Nurses Federation , voted against the Accord. Unreferenced date December 2009 Security policy is a definition of what it means to be secure for a system , organization or other entity. For an organization, it addresses the constraints on behavior of its members as well as constraints imposed on adversaries by mechanisms such as doors, locks, keys and walls. For systems, the security policy addresses constraints on functions and flow among them, constraints on access by external systems and adversaries including programs and access to data by people. Significance If it is important to be secure, then it is important to be sure all of the security policy is enforced by mechanisms that are strong enough. There are organized methodologies and risk assessment strategies to assure completeness of security policies and assure that they are completely enforced. In complex systems, such as information systems , policies can be decomposed into sub policies to facilitate the allocation of security mechanisms to enforce sub policies. However, this practice has pitfalls. It is too easy to simply go directly to the sub policies, which are essentially the rules of operation and dispense with the top level policy. That gives the false sense that the rules of operation address some overall definition of security when they do not. Because it is so difficult to think clearly with completeness about security, rules of operation stated as sub policies with no super policy usually turn out to be rambling rules that fail to enforce anything with completeness. Consequently, a top level security policy is essential to any serious security scheme ... security policy Environmental design Information Protection Policy Information security policy National security policy, Military strategy Network security policy Virtual security policy Photo identification Physical Security Policy Remote Access Policy Security Security engineering User Account Policy References Reflist DEFAULTSORT Security Policy Category Security Category Policy da Sikkerhedspolitik ... more details

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Discretionary policy is a term used to describe macroeconomics macroeconomic policy based on the ad hoc judgment of policymakers as opposed to policy set by predetermined rules. For instance, a central bank er could make decisions on interest rates on a case by case basis instead of allowing a set rule, such as the Taylor rule , determine interest rates. Discretionary policies are similar to feedback rule policies used by the Federal Reserve to achieve price level stability. Discretionary policies refer to actions taken in response to changes in the economy, but they do not follow a strict set of rules, rather, they use subjective judgment to treat each situation in unique manner. In practice, most policy changes are discretionary in nature. nowiki Policy makers use auto stabilizers to adjust the aggregate demand. nowiki Discretionary policy can refer to decision making in both monetary policy and fiscal policy . According to Milton Friedman , the dynamics of change associated with the passage of time presents a timing problem for public policy. The reason this poses a problem is because a long and variable time lag exists between 1. The need of action and the recognition of that need 2. The recognition of a problem and the design and implementation of a policy response and 3. The implementation of the policy and the effect of the policy Friedman 1953 145 . refimprove date January 2008 Public finance The policy mix is the combination of the monetary policy and the fiscal policy of a country. These two channels influence growth and employment, and are generally determined by the central bank and the government respectively. Ideally, the policy mix should aim at maximizing Economic growth growth and minimizing unemployment . However, the central banks and governments are sometimes theorized to have different time horizons, with the elected governments having a shorter time range. Both can have other objectives and must apply to some constraints, diverting them from these primary objectives obeying a Government budget deficit deficit rule, securing the financial sector , courting popularity, etc. Monetary policy is typically accomplished by the central bank which, by the control of interest rate s and the money supply , balances control of inflation and unemployment . The government determines labour market conditions, public investment and public spending, automatic stabilizers and in severe recessions possibly discretionary fiscal policy . Central bank independence is generally held to be positive, because it prevents a single authority from simultaneously issuing debt and paying it off with newly created money, which would result in severe inflation . ref The Monetary Fiscal Policy Mix, page 1 ref References reflist Sources http www.cato.org pubs journal cj21n2 cj21n2 11.pdf THE FISCAL MONETARY POLICY MIX , Alan Reynolds, Cato Journal , Vol. 21, No. 2, Fall 2001. http www.theshortrun.com studies policy mix.pdf The Monetary Fiscal Policy Mix , Alexander D. The study of technology policy or engineering and policy is taught at multiple universities. Classic political science teaches technology as a black box. Similarly economics treats technology as a residual to explain otherwise inexplicable growth. The creation of the U.S. Office of Science and Technology Policy addressed the fact that policy can not treat all technologies as identical based on their social or economic variables. Technology policy is distinct from science studies but both claim Thomas Samuel Kuhn as a founder, while technology policy recognizes the importance of Vannevar Bush . Technology policy approaches science as the pursuit of verifiable or falsifiable hypotheses, while science studies has a post modern view whereby science is belief based and all truths are relative. Wikify date April 2010 orphan date April 2010 An intergenerational policy is a public policy that incorporates an intergenerational approach to addressing an issue or has an impact across the generations. Approaching policy from an intergenerational perspective is based on an understanding of the interdependence and reciprocity that characterizes the relationship between the generations. An intergenerational approach to public policy recognizes that generations share basic needs including adequate income, access to quality health care and social services, educational and employment opportunities, and a safe place to live. Further, policies that are supportive of any age group must build on the common concerns of all generations. ref Generations United. 2010 http ipath.gu.org Guidi8151317.asp Guiding Principles ref References Reflist Category Public policy ... more details
