Unreferenced date October 2008 Equinox is an Amiga demo group with an active period between the years 1987 1996. The name Equinox was not used from the beginning. In the early days we were called The Powerlords, or sometimes The Powerlords Corporation, which consisted of sections in Sweden , Norway and the United Kingdom . At the end of 1990, just after The Powerlords and Aurora s Amiga Halloween Conference, TPL was about to break up. Some members did have some short adventures in other groups at this time. In December 1990 the former organizers of the United Kingdom, Sweden and Norway decided to keep the best members and change the group name to Equinox, and from that day The Powerlords were reborn as Equinox. Some time later, a group from Switzerland that was active for many years as Equinoxe , cut of the e and joined Equinox. Equinox released a bit over 30 Amiga demos and intros, and also got well known for releasing the disk magazine European Top 20 disk magazine European Top 20 , a combined chart and magazine. Up until 1993, Equinox was a pure demo group, but then started to grow at large in the trading and board scene as well. The album starts like their previous studio effort V The New Mythology Suite V The New Mythology Suite , but whereas The Death of Balance normally segues into Lacrymosa, it now segues into Candlelight Fantasia from The Divine Wings of Tragedy album. Many classics are eventually played, including the neo classical metal neo classical Smoke and Mirrors and the epic The Divine Wings of Tragedy. No tracks from the first two albums are performed, even though the album s title references a track from The Damnation Game album The Damnation Game . It starred Adam West as a washed up TV action hero who at the peak of his career was ceremonially deputized by local law enforcement who falsely believes he can solve crimes in real life. His student, Jason, becomes his sidekick and is played by Todd Field . The pilot was broadcast on NBC in July 1991 in television 1991 but was not picked up as a series despite being a personal favorite of NBC chairman Brandon Tartikoff as well as comedian Bill Maher . As an internet phenomenon The episode has become somewhat of an internet phenomenon over the years and was popular on eBay for a time before being made available as a video file, due in part to the resurgence of cult popularity for Adam West. The version in general circulation on the Internet is not the original as aired episode. It comes from a later showing on Trio TV network Trio a cable television cable station which, for unknown reasons, has a few cuts and a few alternate jokes takes put in. One major difference may be due to music rights issues. A version of the original episode as aired on NBC was known to be circulated by tape traders. However, due to the age, high quality copies are difficult to find.
