  1. Inverted hammer

main Candlestick pattern The Inverted Hammer is a type of bullish reversal pattern. As its name implies, the Inverted Hammer looks like an upside down version of the hammer candlestick pattern. Like the Hammer candlestick pattern hammer candlestick pattern , the Inverted Hammer consists of one candle and when found in a downtrend is considered a potential reversal pattern. The pattern is made up of a candle with a small lower body and a long upper wick which is at least two times as large as the short lower body. The body of the candle should be at the low end of the trading range and there should be little or no lower wick in the candle. The long upper wick of the candlestick pattern indicates that the buyers drove prices up at some point during the period in which the candle was formed but encountered selling pressure which drove prices back down for the period to close near to where they opened. As this occurred in an uptrend the selling pressure is seen as a potential reversal sign. When encountering the Inverted Hammer traders will look for a higher open on the next period before considering the pattern confirmed and potentially including it in their trading strategy See also Shooting star candlestick pattern Shooting star Inverted hammer pattern found in an uptrend External links http www.onlinetradingconcepts.com TechnicalAnalysis Candlesticks InvertedHammer.html Inverted hammer at onlinetradingconcepts.com http candlecharts.com candlestick charting glossary.html Inverted Hammer Information at candlecharts.com technical analysis DEFAULTSORT Inverted Hammer Category Candlestick patterns ca Martell invertit alcista ...   more details

  1. Inverted wedge

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 The inverted wedge is a military formation resembling a V or inverted triangle, and is sometimes known as a V formation . In the inverted wedge, two units advance abreast of each other, and a third unit follows behind and between the two, in reserve. It is roughly the reverse of the flying wedge formation. The inverted wedge is particularly effective for encirclement encircling an enemy force, village, or other strategic objective. The leading units envelop the objective to the right and left, while the remaining unit is free to search, attack, or support one or both of the leading units as the situation requires. Arguably the most famous use of the inverted wedge was by Hannibal at the Battle of Cannae , where he surrounded the numerically superior Roman force. The inverted wedge formation is used ceremonially by cadets at the United States Air Force Academy each year at the acceptance parade in the fall, when the new fourth class cadets freshmen join the Cadet Wing. The formation is reversed at the spring s graduation parade, when the soon to be commissioned first class cadets seniors leave the Cadet Wing in the flying wedge formation. 1. Inverted minors

The term inverted minors refers to a treatment used by the Kaplan Sheinwold K S bidding system Precision club Precision , as originally structured, also used inverted minors over a 1 Diams opening . Under this treatment, a single raise of opener s minor suit is strong usually at least 9 Hand evaluation High Card Points .28HCP.29 HCP up to 20 HCP , and a double raise is pre emptive, showing a maximum of 8 HCP. Thus, the treatment inverts the usual structure of the single raise as weak and the double raise as showing limit raise strength. The single or double raise promises at least five card support for the minor. In the original version of K S, and as further developed by Kaplan through the 1990s, both raises also deny a four card major. This treatment is well suited to a bidding system that employs the weak no trump. With 1NT used for balanced hands in the 12 14 HCP range, responder to a 1 Clubs or 1 Diams opening knows that partner has either a good hand, 15 17 balanced, or an unbalanced hand with genuine length in minor suit. If opener has a three card minor, he most often has a strong notrump hand then, if desirable, it s easy to veer into no trump following the single raise. In either case, the partnership is on solid ground after a single raise opener is either unbalanced or strong, and responder has at least an average hand. The single raise leaves plenty of room to explore for the best contract, and even leaves room for an incautious opponent to enter the bidding and be penalized heavily. After a double raise, the partnership seldom bids on. The idea, of course, is to pre empt the opponents and cause them to miss their best contract. The exception occurs when opener has a very strong hand, perhaps one with which he intended to jump in notrump at his second turn showing 18 20 HCP in K S . That hand might simply bid 3NT after the double raise, but the decision can ... vulnerability only. References References Category Bridge bidding nl inverted minor ...   more details

The positions of the heptad repeat are commonly denoted by the lowercase letters a through g . These motifs are the basis for most coiled coil s and, in particular, leucine zipper s, which have predominantly leucine in the d position of the heptad repeat.
