EdwardColeman Delafield 1878 1976 was the son of Maturin L. Delafield, a son of Maj. Joseph Delafield and Mary Coleman Delafield. Edward C. Delafield went into banking and was vice president and president of the Franklin Trust Company in 1914. In 1920, the institution merged with the Bank of America . The Bank of America sold the charter for its California affiliate and name to the Bank of Italy USA under founder Amadeo P. Giannini . In 1931 Delafield s remaining trust company merged with the City Bank Farmers Trust Company. In 1937, he became a founding senior partner in the investment counselling and New York Stock Exchange member stock brokerage firm of Delafield & Delafield. EdwardColeman 1766 1839 was an English veterinary surgeon. His father was the Expenditor Treasurer of the Corporation of Romney Marsh . EdwardColeman the younger was apprenticed to Dr Kite at Gravesend and, in 1789, went to London to the Borough School of Medicine residing in the family of Henry Cline F. R. S., surgeon to Guy s Hospital. During his training Coleman studied asphyxia and gained a prize for an essay on Rescusitation awarded by the Humane Society, published in 1791. In that year he started practising as a surgeon in London. He interested himself in the comparative anatomy of the eye and in 1793 became Professor at the London Veterinary College, although he was very ignorant of veterinary science and practise. He held the post for many years and lived in a house close to the College. In addition he visited Woolwich Hospital once a week, and was appointed principal veterinary surgeon to the Army. He became a Fellow of the Royal Society on 9 June 1831. He married Sarah Slack 1771 1833 , the daughter of Thomas and Jane Slack. Coleman died of gout and liver disease 14 July 1839 and was buried in the churchyard of St James s Hampstead Road. Orphan date December 2010 James George Coleman 1824 1883 was an Anglo Indian soldier, businessman and philanthropist who served as a member of the Madras Legislative Council from 1879 to 1883. Career Coleman was born in 1824 in India and was initially in the Marine Service. Later, he started a business in partnership with one Mr. McDowell and eventually rose to become the sole proprietor of the business. Coleman was successful as a businessman and amassed a huge fortune. Public life Coleman was involved in philanthropic activities right from the beginning and strove to uplift the Anglo Indian community. He joined the Volunteer Movement and rose to become Lieutenant Colonel in the Duke s Own Artillery Corps. He was also a member of the Madras Municipal Corporation . In 1879, he was nominated to the Madras Legislative Council and served from 1879 to 1883. Death Coleman died at Royapuram , Madras on December 14, 1883. James Edward Ned Wyatt September 24, 1860 &ndash May 4, 1932 was a lawyer and political figure on Prince Edward Island . He represented 5th Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1908 to 1915 as a Prince Edward Island Conservative Party Conservative . He was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island , the son of William Wyatt, and was educated at Prince of Wales College . He married Cecilia, the daughter of John Lefurgey . Wyatt studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1883 and set up practice in Summerside, Prince Edward Island Summerside with his brother in law J.E. Lefurgey. He was defeated when he ran for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1904 but was successful in the elections of 1908 and 1912. Wyatt was defeated when he ran for reelection in 1915 and in an 1922 by election. He also was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat in the House of Commons in 1926. His daughter Wanda was the first female law student in the province. J. Edward Roush Lake is a reservoir in Huntington, Indiana . The Huntington Reservoir was renamed J. Edward Roush Lake to honor the impact to the local area of J. Edward Roush , who served as a State Representative and State Senator in Indiana and a representative in the U.S. House of Representatives . The Indiana Indiana Department of Natural Resources Department of Natural Resources DNR , in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers , manages public land at Roush Lake, along with that of seven other lakes in the state, including nearby Salamonie and Mississinewa lakes. The latter two, along with Roush, are known as the Upper Wabash Reservoirs. Under a lease with the Corps, the DNR operates and maintains the recreational facilities and wildlife areas at these properties. The Corps manages the dams and some recreational facilities immediately around the dams. The Corps also monitors and controls lake water levels.
