Born in Stratford, Ontario , he and his brother Norm McAtee Norm played together in junior ice hockey with the Oshawa Generals during the years when the Generals dominated the Ontario Hockey League , winning championships with them in both 1938 39 and 1939 40. In 1939 40, Jud Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy led the league with 25 goals and 44 points before signing as a free agent with the Red Wings in the National Hockey League NHL after the season. Life Born in New York City in 1938, he graduated from the High School of Music and Art with a diploma in Art, and attended The City College of New York and McGill University in Montreal , Canada . Member of the USCO media art collective since 1965. He taught film and video at the School of Visual Arts, the City University of New York , and New York University . A resident of the Dayton area since 1973, he was Assistant Professor of Art at Wright State University where he founded the film and video area of the Art Department , and taught at Sinclair Community College in Dayton as Artist in Residence through an Ohio Arts Council Grant , and at Xavier University Cincinnati Xavier University in Cincinnati. From 2000 he was resident artist at USCO .
