Soccer is the national sport in Haiti . This country has nine provinces and each one of them has a major league of soccer , which is a FIFA association http fr.wikipedia.org wiki F C3 A9d C3 A9ration internationale de football association . From Jacmel Soccer League , we have Pierre Paul Cadet who is a FIFA Soccer Superstar http miss canada new stars.com my biography since 1984. Every year, a championship is organized across the country and the teams of those leagues participate. This is an opportunity to discover the best players and goalkeepers. In 1982, the soccer team of Jacmel finished in second position when they lost the final game in the penalty kicks period after two periods of overtime. In 1974, the Haitian national team participated in the FIFA World Cup for the first time, but they were not qualified to have a place in the final games. Women soccer is popular in some provinces but not all over the country because they still think that soccer is a sport for men. In Jacmel city, many women play soccer but there are no women soccer major league in that city. Since the 2010 Haiti earthquake that devastated that country, some provincial leagues of Haiti don t organize any soccer competition. President Michel Martelly will have to work hard in order to improve that situation in that country. I wish all the best to him.
