They played their home games at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania . They began play as an expansion member in 2000 as the Johnstown Jackals of the Indoor Football League IFL . After a dismal inaugural year, the league folded. The franchise would become a charter member of the newly formed National Indoor Football League NIFL as the J Dogs. The move resulted in a much better year, as they finished second in their division. However, Johnstown received a first round K.O. from the Mississippi Fire Dogs . After the season, the franchise folded and Johnstown was left without an indoor football team, until the arrival of the Johnstown Riverhawks in 2005. Grandview Cemetery is a cemetery located at 801 Millcreek Road in Johnstown, Pennsylvania . The cemetery association that operates Grandview was founded in 1885 to accommodate Johnstown s rapidly growing population.
