Early years In the early 1970s, Vitabile was a Soldato soldier in the crew of Giovanni Riggi John Riggi . In 1976, family boss Sam DeCavalcante Simone Sam the Plumber DeCavalcante retired to Florida and Riggi succeeded him as boss. Riggi then designated Vitabile as his consigliere and Girolamo Palermo Girolamo Jimmy Dumps Palermo as underboss . The DeCavalcante family would be under this steady leadership for the next fifteen years. However, the late 1980s brought law enforcement investigations that would shake up the family throughout the 1990s. Born in Split city Split , he was a grandson of Naval officer Stefano de Nonveiller 1660 1735 . He became Governor of Knin , Dalmatia in 1765, and Governor of Kotor , also on the Adriatic , in 1771. He served as Superintendent of the Republic of Poljica , in central Dalmatia. In May 1783 he became the governor of the city of Sinj , near Split, and helped defeat Plague disease plague in the city.
