After moving to France , where he lived from 1947 to 1951, he attended the Paris Conservatory 1949&ndash 51 and played with Coleman Hawkins 1949 , James Moody saxophonist James Moody 1949&ndash 50 , Roy Eldridge , Don Byas and Kenny Clarke 1950 . In the 1950s Peck played on television in New York and Paris. In 1953 he recorded with Dizzy Gillespie . Peck returned to France again in the 1960s, playing with Michel Legrand , L o Ferr , Andr Hodeir and Duke Ellington .
