Use mdy dates date April 2012 Asahi no kata 1543 February 18, 1590 was a half sister of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and wife of Tokugawa Ieyasu , two of Japan s greatest feudal warlords. She is also called Suruga Gozen and Asahi hime , though none of these are names, referring to her as the person of Asahi , the Lady Suruga province Suruga , or Princess Asahi. Asahi no kata was first married to Saji Hy ga no kami, but when her brother Toyotomi Hideyoshi wished to make peace with Tokugawa Ieyasu after the Battle of Komaki and Nagakute , Hideyoshi expressed interest in marrying her to Ieyasu. As a result, Saji Hy ga committed suicide, in order to not pose an obstacle to such a powerful political marriage, and the two were married soon afterwards. Tokugawa and his new wife visited her mother when she fell ill in 1589 the mother of Asahi no kata and Hideyoshi died the following year, as did Asahi no kata herself. Ji in , Jion , and Jitte form a group of kata used in Shotokan , Seiyo Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo Shorin ryu Seiyo Kai , and other karate styles, beginning with the same characteristic kamae of the left hand covering the right, which apparently has roots in ancient Chinese boxing cite . Their origin is thought to be from the Tomari te school, however Hirokazu Kanazawa speculates that the Jion kata were devised in the Jionji , the Jion temple, where martial arts were famously practiced. She is regarded as the first writer in Hungary and its foremost representative of Baroque prose. Daughter of baron Stephen Petr czy and Elisabeth Th k ly and cousin of prince Imre Th k ly of Transsylvania. Her family was Protestant, and after her father in 1670 participated in a rebellion against Habsburg, they lived in exile in Poland for a while. She married Petrovinai Pekry L rinc in 1681, and became the grandmother of writer Polix nia Daniel 1720 1776 . The couple were deeply involved in the political life of Hungary and Transylvania. Her poems were published in 1874.
