KennedyCenter Field is a community baseball field at the KennedyCenter YMCA recreation camp on West Virginia Route 2 about 4 miles north of Huntington, West Virginia . The field is used for practice and non conference games by the Marshall University baseball team. The field is unlighted, has almost no provisions for spectators, and limited locker rooms. Because of its inadequacies, Marshall plays conference games at Appalachian Power Park 50 miles from campus in Charleston, West Virginia . Baseball is the only sport at Marshall that does not have its own state owned facility except golf which has a working arrangement with several local courses . Because the facility lies outside the city s floodwall and is on the banks of the Ohio River , games are often cancelled or moved to an assortment of alternative fields. Marshall also plays home games at Linda K. Epling Stadium in Beckley, West Virginia , which is 110 miles from campus. The facility was named for John F.
