Ingvar of Kiev redirects here. It can also refer to Igor of Kiev . Unreferenced date February 2008 Ingvar Yaroslavich in Russian language Russian , Prince of Dorogobuzh, Prince of Lutsk , Grand Prince of Kiev 1202 and 1214 , Prince of Volodymyr Volynskyi 1207 . Son of Yaroslav Izyaslavich , great grandson of Vladimir Monomakh . In 1180, Ingvar Yaroslavich joined Ryurik Rostislavich in his struggle against Sviatoslav III of Kiev Sviatoslav Vsevolodovich of Chernihiv . According to the Tale of Igor s Campaign , Ingvar was a brave man, however, he never wanted to irritate his powerful neighbors. In 1183, for instance, Ingvar refused to accommodate Vladimir Yaroslavich in Dorogobuzh , who had been banished from Halych . It appears that Ingvar was wary of Yaroslav Osmomysl , Vladimir Yaroslavich s father. Soon after this, Ingvar took place of his older brother Vsevolod Yaroslavich as the ruler of Lutsk . In 1202, Ingvar was appointed ruler of Kiev instead of the ousted Ryurik Rostislavich in accordance with a deal between Roman Mstislavich of Halych and Vsevolod the Big Nest , Grand Prince of Vladimir . Orphan date February 2009 Moses of Kiev was a History of the Jews in Russia Jewish Talmud ist who lived in the first half of the 12th century. Moses seems to have been in western Europe in consequence of the expulsion of the Jews from Kiev in 1124 comp. Firkowitz in Ha Karmel, ii.407 . It is not impossible that he was a pupil of Jacob b. Me r Tam , whom he seems to have known see Tam s Sefer ha Yashar, No. 522, p.  29a . From Russia Moses carried on a correspondence with Samuel ben Ali , the head of the Talmudic Academies in Babylonia Babylonian academy , and through Moses Western scholars learned of an important legal decision of the Geonim which had been communicated to him by Samuel Responsa of Me r b. Baruch of Rothenburg, ed. Bloch, No. 494 . Another responsum from Samuel to Moses is found in the manuscript Yi use Tanna im wa Amora im, whose author is probably Judah ben Kalonymus of Speyer . Whether or not this Moses is identical with Rabbi Moses the Russian , whom the author of Sefer ha Shoham mentions, is doubtful.
