Norton Lindsey is a village and civil parish in Warwickshire , UK . It is located 3.5 miles south east of the tourist and county town of Warwick and a mile south east of the M40 motorway . According to the 2001 UK Census the village had between 300 and 350 people living in it. The uncertainty arises because part of the village is in a separate parish. Indeed whilst most of the village is in the Warwick district Warwick District , some of it is in the Stratford district Stratford District . The village takes its name from the Lindsey family who were lords of the manor in the 12th century. The parish church of the Holy Trinity dates from the following century. The village has a windmill which is currently being restored. Lindsey began representing Essex County Cricket Club Essex Second XI in 1959, making his debut against Sussex County Cricket Club Sussex at the age of just 15. Lindsey was a frequent starter in the Second XI for the next five years, but he made just a single first class appearance, for Essex against Oxford University Cricket Club Oxford University in 1964, when Lindsey was still only 19 years old.
