She was 165 feet long, and her capacity was a little more than 30 modern automobiles, and 325 passengers. She was owned originally by the Kitsap County Transportation Company , which would be acquired by Puget Sound Navigation Company and eventually by Washington State Ferries . Eventually she was sold to the Oregon Department of Transportation for use on the Astoria Megler Ferry route. In 1966, the vessel was sold to a private party to be used as a cannery fish cannery but sank when being towed to Alaska .
