The length of the lagoon is 40 km and its width is about 20 km on average. The Fourhorn sculpin is common in its waters. The Neskynpil gyn Lagoon is separated from the sea by a narrow landspit which completely encloses the lagoon, isolating it from the Chukchi Sea, except for a narrow pass. 2 km north of the spit is Idlidlya Island . Burley Lagoon is a picturesque convert 10000 acre km2 adj on watershed located on the Key Peninsula in both Pierce County, Washington and Kitsap County, Washington . Approximately sixty percent of the lagoon marine waters is in Pierce County and forty percent in Kitsap County. The percentages in each county are reversed for the watershed uplands. All of the commercial shellfish acreage, which is owned by Western Oyster Company , is in Pierce County. Okarito Lagoon is a coastal lagoon on the west Coast, New Zealand West Coast of New Zealand s South Island . It is located 130 kilometres south of Hokitika , and covers an area of about 12 km , making it the largest unmodified wetland in New Zealand. Several small rivers drain into the lagoon, and it is the outflow of Lake Mapourika . Lagoon Island coor dm 67 35 S 68 16 W is the northernmost of the Leonie Islands , lying in the entrance to Ryder Bay on the southeast side of Adelaide Island . It was discovered by the French Antarctic Expedition , 1908 10, under Charcot. The island was charted by the British Graham Land Expedition BGLE under Rymill in February 1936 and so named because with the island on its west side it forms a lagoon.
