Multiple issues orphan February 2009 unreferenced August 2008 advert August 2008 Image Orbiter 500 superflat.png thumb Orbiter 500 superflat without a camera The Orbiter in the sense of camera technique is a camera seat with a seated cameraman , swivelling on a low working height. A swivelling seat of the Orbiter is characterized by a patent ed principle of partial separation of the camera and the movable swivelling seat. This ensures the natural vibrations of the camera operator to be absorbed and they are therefore transferred to the camera to a very small extent. The separation is achieved by a special mounting technique of the swivelling seat, due to which the occurring vibrations are transferred from the centre of the system to the external feet. With the currently used focal length s of telephoto lens with up to x101 zoom lens zoom an optimum vibration resistance is vital for stable pictures. The closer the Lens optics lens zooms on the object the more stable the camera support has to be. Otherwise the picture could wobble. The natural vibrations caused by the footwork of the cameraman are therefore unwanted and have to be kept away from the camera. Apart from the mechanical separation mentioned above, additional absorption membranes were inserted into the Orbiter system in the process of its development to ensure further picture stability. In the process of construction and testing two things had to be considered simultaneously. Firstly, that the swivelling seat cannot ... implemented in the Orbiter system. Travel time to Uranus with solar electric propulsion would be 13 years, with one Earth flyby gravity assist, with launch windows from Earth of 21 days every year. ref name mission study In early 2012, because of the FY2013 budget proposal, NASA flagship class planetary missions were ... Image Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter 2.jpg thumb 240px Artists s Conception of Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter The Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter JIMO was a proposed spacecraft designed to explore the icy moons of Jupiter . The main target was Europa moon Europa , the suspected ocean of which is one of the places where simple alien life is a possibility in our solar system. Ganymede moon Ganymede and Callisto moon Callisto , which are now thought to have liquid, salty oceans beneath their icy surfaces, were also targets of interest for the probe. The JIMO spacecraft Image Prometheus1.jpg thumb left Forward view of JIMO. JIMO was to have a large number of revolutionary features. Throughout its main voyage to the Jupiter moons, it was to be propelled by an ion propulsion system via either the HiPEP or NEXIS engine, and powered by a small nuclear reactor fission reactor . A Brayton cycle Brayton power conversion system would convert reactor heat into electricity. Providing a thousand times the electrical output of conventional Solar cell solar or radioisotope thermoelectric generator RTG based power system, the reactor was expected to open up opportunities like flying a full scale ice penetrating radar system and providing a strong, high bandwidth data transmitter. Using electric propulsion 8 ion engines, plus Hall effect thruster Hall thrusters of varying sizes would make it possible to go into and leave orbits around the moons of Jupiter , creating more thorough observation and mapping windows than exist for current spacecraft, which must make short fly by maneuvers because of limited fuel for maneuvering. The design called for the reactor to be positioned in the tip of the spacecraft behind ... to Jupiter de Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter es Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter fr JIMO it Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter hu JIMO ja JIMO no Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter pl Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter pt Jupiter Icy Moons Orbiter zh ... more details

A lunar day is the period of time it takes for the Moon Earth s Moon to complete one full rotation on its Axis of rotation axis with respect to the Sun . Equivalently, it is the time it takes the Moon to make one complete orbit around the Earth and come back to the same lunar phase phase . It is marked from a new moon to the next new moon. With respect to the stars, the Moon takes 27 Day Earth day s, 7 hours and 43.2 minutes to complete its orbit but since the Earth Moon system advances around the Sun in the meantime, the Moon must travel further to get back to the same phase. On average, this synodic period lasts 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 3 seconds. This is an average figure, since the speed of the Earth Moon system around the Sun varies slightly over a year, due to the eccentricity orbit eccentricity of the orbit. The Moon s own orbit also undergoes a number of periodic variations about its mean value, due to the gravitational perturbations of the Sun. Alternate usage The term lunar day may also refer to the period between moonrise s in a particular location on Earth. This period is typically slightly longer than a 24 hour Earth day, as the Moon revolves around the Earth in the same direction as the Earth s axial rotation. ref http oceanservice.noaa.gov education kits tides media supp tide05.html Animation of a lunar day .
