Callimahos came up with the society s name while trying to schedule a luncheon for former CA 400 students at the Fort George G. Meade Ft. Meade Officers Club being unable to use either the course name or the No such agency underlying government agency s name for security reasons, he spotted the ceramic Dundee jar and decided to use The Dundee Society as the cover name for the luncheon reservation. ref name DundeeSociety CA 400 students were presented with ceramic Marmalade Dundee Marmalade Dundee Marmalade jars at the close of the course as part of the induction ceremony into the Dundee Society. In 1857, Alphonse Fournaise bought land in Chatou to open a boat rental, restaurant, and small hotel for the new tourist trade. Closed in 1906, the Maison Fournaise remained abandoned before being restored in 1990 on the initiative of the town of Chatou, with the assistance of American private funds from the Friends of French Art.
