    Emerald Web was an American musical duo, made up of the husband wife team of Bob Stohl and Kat Epple. Founded in 1978 and active through the 1980s, the Florida based Stohl and Epple composed and recorded music in the New Age and electronica genres. In addition to recording their music and performing in concert, Emerald Web composed many television soundtracks, winning several Emmy Award s they also composed music for a wide range of other applications, from films to planetarium shows. They received a Grammy nomination in 1986 for their album Catspaw . Both Epple and Stohl were flautists their flute dominated music achieved a distinctive sound among New Age artists. Stohl was also noted for his musicianship on the Lyricon, a woodwind synthesizer hybrid. The partnership ended with Stohl s death by drowning in 1990, at the age of 34. Epple has continued to compose and record under her own name, as a solo artist and with the ensemble White Crow 1997 . She also played flute on Devin Townsend s Ghost The Devin Townsend Project album Ghost record. On her own and as part of Emerald Web, Epple has won eight Emmys and ten Addy Awards for work in advertising. His work on the lyricon , the first electronic wind instrument, which he helped develop with engineer Bill Bernardi , became the signature sound of Shadowfax. ref Greenberg 2006 pp. 34 40 ref In live performances, Greenberg appeared as a featured artist at Carnegie Hall , Montreux Jazz Festival Montreux , Ravinia Festival Ravinia , The Greek Theater , Wolftrap , Red Rocks , and the Universal Theater , among others. His final work was a live Shadowfax recording and full length concert from Santa Cruz, California , in 1995. This album was produced by Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter . It was recorded in December 1975 and released in April 1976 through Columbia Records. Columbia released it again as a digitally remastered CD in 1991. This is Weather Report s sixth album and the first with the bass player Jaco Pastorius who features on two tracks. The album draws heavily from African influences and its style could be described as world fusion .
