  1. R4200

The R4200 is a microprocessor designed by MIPS Technologies MIPS Technologies, Inc. MTI that implemented the MIPS III instruction set architecture ISA . It was also known as the VRX during development. The microprocessor was licensed to NEC , and the company fabricated and marketed it as the VR4200. The first VR4200, an 80  MHz part, was introduced in 1993. A faster 100  MHz part became available in 1994. The R4200 was developed specifically for low power Windows NT computers such as personal computers and laptops. MTI claimed the microprocessor s integer performance was greater than that of a high end Intel i486 and 80 of a P5 variant Intel P5 Pentium microprocessor. The R4200 ultimately did not see any use in personal computers and was repositioned as an embedded microprocessor that competed with the R4600 . 1. Bipolar Integrated Technology

Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Bipolar Integrated Technology was a semiconductor company based in Beaverton, Oregon which sold products implemented with ECL technology. The company was founded in 1983 by former Floating Point Systems , Intel , and Tektronix engineers. The company was later renamed BIT Inc. . The initial product was a Floating point coprocessor chip set. Later, the company produced the B5000 SPARC ECL microprocessor never reached production in a Sun Microsystems product, though used by Floating Point Systems and the R6000 MIPS architecture MIPS ECL microprocessor which did reach production as a MIPS minicomputer . The manufacture of these processors were never really reliable, thus making them prohibitively expensive when compared to competing CMOS products. 1. INMOS G364 framebuffer

Unreferenced date December 2009 The G364 framebuffer was a line of graphics adapter s using the SGS Thomson INMOS G364 chipset, produced by INMOS known for their transputer and eventually acquired by SGS Thomson and incorporated into STMicroelectronics in the early 1990s. The G364 included a RAMDAC and a 64 bit interface to Video RAM VRAM graphical memory to implement a framebuffer , but did not include any hardware based graphical acceleration other than a hardware cursor function. The G364 was largely similar in design and functionality to the G300 framebuffer , but had a 64 bit VRAM interface instead of the slower 32 bit interface of the lower price G300. The INMOS G364 is quite similar to the G332 found on the DECstation Personal DECstation 5000 Series Personal DECstation . Although the G364 was capable of providing comparatively high resolution output up to 1600× 1200 pixels at 8 bits per pixel, in many cases typically achieved only in Unix computer workstation workstations such as those of Sun Microsystems or Silicon Graphics SGI , it was not a popular chipset for the personal computer manufacturers of the early 1990s and was not adopted by any major workstation manufacturers.
