In mathematics , Nambu dynamics is a generalization of Hamiltonian mechanics involving multiple Hamiltonians. Recall that Hamiltonian mechanics is based upon the flows generated by a smooth function smooth Hamiltonian over a symplectic manifold . The flows are symplectomorphism s and hence obey Liouville s theorem . This was soon generalized to flows generated by a Hamiltonian over a Poisson manifold . In 1973, Yoichiro Nambu suggested a generalization involving Nambu Poisson manifold s with more than one Hamiltonian. ref cite journal authorlink Yoichiro Nambu first Y. last Nambu title Generalized Hamiltonian dynamics journal Physical Review volume D7 year 1973 issue 8 pages 2405 2412 doi 10.1103 PhysRevD.7.2405 bibcode 1973PhRvD...7.2405N ref Specifically, consider a differential manifold M, for some integer N 2 one has a smooth N linear map from N copies of C sup sup M to itself, such that it is completely antisymmetric the Nambu bracket , h sub 1 sub ,  ...,  h sub N &minus 1 sub , . , which acts as a derivation h sub 1 sub ,  ...,  h sub N &minus 1 sub , fg h sub 1 sub ,  ...,  h sub N &minus 1 sub ,  f   g     f h sub 1 sub ,  ...,  h sub N &minus 1 sub ,  g whence the Filippov Identities FI , ref cite journal first V. Bush Mechanics is a 2001 television documentary film documentary series directed by David Batty and produced by the Warlpiri Media Association , featuring an Indigenous Australians Indigenous Australian take on motor mechanics. A bush mechanic , in Australian parlance, is someone who uses unorthodox techniques and readily available materials to build or fix mechanical problems. The television show featured Aboriginal people from Yuendumu fixing cars in such a way as they travelled through Central Australia. As they traverse the desert in their dilapidated vehicles, the series followed how they solved multiple car problems with inventive, wacky and unpredictable The Bush bush repair techniques. One example from the series, episode one, involved a station wagon with the bands equipment on the roof. Since the car was very old the back half collapsed. They then removed the roof of the car with an axe , turned it upside down and tied it to the back of the car, loaded the items from the roof onto the same roof but it is now used as a trailer. They continued down the sandy trail track dragging the roof behind them. The television show consisted of five episodes one initial half hour documentary, which garnered international recognition, and four subsequent episodes. Vectorial Mechanics 1948 is a book on vector manipulation i.e., vector methods by Arthur Milne Edward Arthur Milne , a highly decorated e.g., James Scott Prize Lectureship British astrophysicist and mathematician. Milne states that the text was due to conversations circa 1924 with his then colleague and erstwhile teacher Sydney Chapman astronomer Sydney Chapman who viewed vectors not merely as a pretty toy weapon toy but as a powerful weapon of applied mathematics . Milne states that he did not at first believe Chapman, holding on to the idea that vectors were like a pocket rule, which needs to be unfolded before it can be applied and used. In time, however, Milne convinces himself that Chapman was right. ref Vectorial Mechanics Preface page vii ref Summary Vectorial Mechanics has 18 chapters grouped into 3 parts. Part I is on vector algebra including chapters on a definition of a vector, products of vectors, elementary tensor analysis, and integral theorems. Part II is on systems of line vectors including chapters on line co ordinates, systems of line vectors, statics of rigid bodies, the displacement of a rigid body, and the work of a system of line vectors. Part III is on dynamics including kinematics , particle dynamics, types of particle motion, dynamics of systems of particles, rigid bodies in motion, dynamics of rigid bodies, motion of a rigid body about its center of mass , gyrostatic problems, and impulsive motion. In physics, invariance mechanics , in its simplest form, is the rewriting of the laws of quantum field theory in terms of invariant mathematics invariant quantities only. For example, the positions of a set of particles in a particular coordinate system is not invariant under translations of the system. However, the 4 dimensional distances between the particles is invariant under translation geometry translations , rotations and Lorentz transformations of the system. The invariant quantities made from the input and output states of a system are the only quantities needed to give a probability amplitude to a given system. This is what is meant by the system obeying a symmetry . Since all the quantities involved are relative quantities, invariance mechanics can be thought of as taking relativity theory to its natural limit. The Mechanics Hall , also known as the Hibernian Theatre of Varieties , was a Theater structure theatre and music hall in Lower Abbey Street, Dublin . It stood at the site of the current Abbey Theatre at 26 Lower Abbey Street. A theatre or circus has stood on this site on Lower Abbey Street since at least the early 19th century. In the mid 19th century, at the urging of Dublin s gentry, John Classon, an upper class merchant, acquired the buildings then on the site, one of which had housed a circus, in order to establish a joint concert hall and civic institution for the lower classes. Those buildings became the Music Hall and the Mechanics Institute. The Music Hall, which could seat 4000 persons, hosted concerts, lectures, and popular entertainments. ref cite web author Denard, Hugh url http blog.oldabbeytheatre.net archives 298 title Abbey Theatre, 1904, digitally reconstructing Dublin s original Abbey Theatre publisher blog.oldabbeytheatre.net date February 25, 2011 accessdate 2011 09 20 ref ref cite web author Ferris, Catherine url http eprints.nuim.ie 2577 1 Catherine Ferris PhD 2011.pdf title The Use of Newspapers as a Source for Musicological Research A Case Study of Dublin Musical Life 1840 44 publisher National University of Ireland, Maynooth date April 2011 accessdate 2011 09 20 ref The renowned black American abolitionist Frederick Douglass lectured at the Music Hall in 1845 during a four month visit to Ireland. Classical mechanics cTopic Fundamental concepts In mechanics , a couple is a system of force s with a resultant a.k.a. net, or sum torque moment but no resultant force. ref name Kane Dynamics, Theory and Applications by T.R. Kane and D.A. Levinson, 1985, pp. 90 99 http ecommons.library.cornell.edu handle 1813 638 Free download ref Another term for a couple is a pure moment . Its effect is to create rotation without Translation physics translation , or more generally without any acceleration of the center of mass centre of mass . The resultant moment of a couple is called a torque . This is not to be confused with the term torque as it is used in physics, where it is merely a synonym of moment. ref Physics for Engineering by Hendricks, Subramony, and Van Blerk, page 148, http books.google.com books?id 8Kp UwV4o0gC&pg PA148 Web link ref Instead, torque is a special case of moment. Torque has special properties that moment does not have, in particular the property of being independent of reference point, as described below. Simple couple Definition A couple is a pair of forces, equal in magnitude, oppositely directed, and displaced by perpendicular distance. The simplest kind of couple consists of two equal and opposite force s whose line of action lines of action do not coincide.
