Refimprove date December 2009 Metabolic wastes or excretes are Chemical substance substance s left over from Cellular respiration excretory processes, which cannot be used by the organism they are surplus or have lethal effect , and must therefore be Excretion excreted . This includes nitrogen compounds, water , Carbon dioxide CO sub 2 sub , phosphate s, sulfate s, insole s, medical s, food additive s etc. Animal s treat these compounds as excretes. Plant s have Chemistry chemical machinery which transforms some of them primarily the nitrogen compounds into useful substances, and it has been shown by Brian J. Ford that abscissa leaves also carry wastes away from the parent plant. In this way, Ford argues that the shed leaf acts as an excretory organ carrying away excretory products . All the metabolic wastes are excreted in a form of water solution solutes through the excretory Organ anatomy organs nephridia , Malpighian tubule s, kidney s , with the exception of CO sub 2 sub , which is excreted together with the water vapor throughout the lung s. The elimination of these compounds enables the chemical homeostasis of the organism. Nitrogen wastes The nitrogen compounds through which the very toxic nitrogen is eliminated from the organism are ammonia , urea and uric acid . All of these substances are product from the protein metabolism. Ammonia forms with the oxidation of amino group s NH sub 2 sub , which are removed from the proteins when they convert into carbohydrate s. It is a very toxic substance and only one nitrogen atom is removed with it. A lot of water is needed for the ammonia excretion. Thus, the marine organisms excrete ammonia directly in the water aminothelic organism s , while the terrestrial mainly amphibia ns and mammal s convert ammonia into urea, a process ... of carbohydrates and lipid s in condensation reactions, and in some other metabolic Chemical reaction ... The Ultimate Typing Championship UTC is a typing competition designed to identify and award the fastest typists around. History The Ultimate Typing Championship was created in order to promote typing and find the fastest typists in USA. Players compete against each other in typing races. Typing races are done in real time online via an online typing race application. Finalists compete in person at SXSW in Austin , Texas . The Ultimate Typing Championship was initially created by the keyboard manufacturer Das Keyboard Which is a company that manufacturers keyboards. 2010 Sean Wrona of Ithaca, NY and Nate Bowen of New York, NY were the two finalists in the inaugural Ultimate Typing Championship, held on March 14 at the 2010 SXSW Interactive Festival. Wrona and Bowen competed in a best of three finals. The first round consisted of a standard 574 word text in which Wrona defeated Bowen 163 110 wpm, setting an unofficial world record. The second round consisted of a more difficult text involving the majority of the keys on the QWERTY keyboard, in which Wrona defeated Bowen 124 79 wpm to win the Ultimate Typing Championship and a 2,000 first prize. Orphan date March 2012 The idea of one hand typing is to only use one hand e.g. the left one and type typical the other hand e.g. right hand letters. Its history and application are closely related to keyboard research on QWERTY and Dvorak Simplified Keyboard . Type with one hand can be done in a number of ways, and novel approaches are still emerging. People handle this situation in different ways and the solution depends on whether it s a temporary condition, as well as the pupil s physical abilities, muscle strength, cognition and memory, etc. Therefore existing approaches may fit different expectations. Benefits and Drawbacks One hand typing while another hand holding a cup of coffee is sometimes desirable by many typist. It can be useful during very frequent switching between keyboard and mouse or if the typist makes notes while using one hand for other task. However, often one handed keyboard typing is rather slow and as only one hand is being used it can also be quite tiring. Principles of operation Using Standard PC Keyboard Spacebar as Modifier The idea is to only use one hand preferably the left one and type typical right hand letters by holding the space key with your thumb which then mirrors the right side to the left one. Thus you re using the same finger on the left hand which you would use on the right hand to type that key. The Darwin Information Typing Architecture DITA is an OASIS organization OASIS standard XML data model for authoring and publishing. Many third party tools support authoring, including Adobe FrameMaker , XMetaL , Arbortext, Quark XML Author , Oxygen XML Editor , easyDITA , and SDL Xopus . With the DITA Open Toolkit publishing system, DITA features single source publishing , inheritance , topic based authoring , and Reuse content reuse . Features and limitations Topic orientation Main Topic based authoring DITA content is created as small topic items, rather than long books or chapters. A DITA map contains links to topics, organized in the sequence which may be hierarchical in which they are intended to appear in finished documents. A DITA map defines the table of contents for deliverables. Relationship tables in DITA maps can also specify which topics link to each other. Modular topics can be reused in different deliverables. However, the strict topic orientation of DITA makes it an awkward fit for content that contains lengthy narratives that do not lend themselves to being broken into small, standalone chunks. Experts stress the importance of content analysis in the early stages of implementing structured authoring. ref cite web url http www.scriptorium.com whitepapers dita assessment dita assessment4.html title Implementing DITA versus implementing custom XML architecture date 2008 publisher Scriptorium Publishing Services, Inc accessdate 2009 07 29 ref ref cite web url http rockley.com blog ?p 22 title Structure, DITA, and content other than technical documentation date ... and attributes, which make topics easier to find.
