WithoutTitle is a book of poems by Geoffrey Hill . It was published by Penguin in 2006 in poetry 2006 ISBN 0 14 102025 3 . The first book of the Hill s late writing period post epic . The first book of collected poems after Hill s spiritual epic, consisting of Triumph of Love , Speech, Speech , and The Orchards of Syon a tragedic triad which may include Scenes from Comus as either a comic or at least distanced work in a four part movement Hill considers the appetite itself of making poetry. Can poetry exist outside epic unity? Why is the poet still called to write after having given a total message? Can a poet offer a total message ? Touching on the man woman relationship, the act of creation, and the preconceptions, heights and failures of his career, Hill converses imaginatively with Cesare Pavese and responds with a discursive series of meditations varying the central theme of turn and counterturn that as one remain, however, WithoutTitle . One must not forget that Hill, an eminent etymologist, and whose taste for and fascination of the pun can be noticed since his early writings, may be drawing on several or all historical variants in the title itself. Thus, this work may purport to have no category or that Hill himself who has voiced much disappointment, publicly, in his lack of a reading public and at the time of its writing held no Nobel Prize nor knighthood from his native country that he refers to as Mine, I say mine Canto 59, SS remains WithoutTitle . The epic and the epic s struggles now behind him, the writing is mature as it is easier more open and relaxed, looser ... of Hill s works to those who are familiar with his opus and its problems. Play Without a Title , or Untitled Play Comedia sin t tulo , is an unfinished work unfinished Experimental theatre experimental play by the Spain Spanish twentieth century modernist playwright Federico Garc a Lorca . Lorca conceived the work as a three act drama and had referred to it by the title The Dream of Life ref name edwards1 Edwards 1994, xxxi . ref echoing, perhaps, Pedro Calder n de la Barca Calder n s classic Spanish Golden Age Literature Golden Age comedy La vida es sue o Life is a Dream , but he completed only the first act. Lorca s play was probably written in 1935, but remained unpublished until 1978 it received its Spanish language premi re in 1989 at the Teatro Mar a Guerrero in Madrid , in a production directed by Llu s Pasqual . ref name edwards2 Edwards 1994, xxxi xxxii ref Gwynne Edwards, the English language translator of the play, argues that it differs in important respects from many of Lorca s other works, insofar as it attempts a series of transgressions of the traditional boundary separating Presentational acting The actor audience relationship stage from auditorium . The play tackles issues of Class struggle class and Ideology ideological division, of intolerance and hatred, all of them acted out in a theatre where the actors are as much the audience as the audience the actors. ref name edwards3 Edwards 1994, xxxv . ref Lorca s experiments in this direction echo the work of Luigi Pirandello Pirandello whose Six Characters in Search of an Author 1921 attempted to stage a similar transgression , though Lorca develops the effect in a far more politically orientated, almost Epic theater Brechtian direction. Evelyn Hofer born January 21, 1922, Marburg , Germany , died November 2, 2009, Mexico City , Mexico was a German American portrait and documentary photographer.
