Ter zia Mora was born in Sopron , Hungary but moved to Germany after the political changes in Hungary in 1990. She studied Hungarian studies and drama at the Humboldt University of Berlin Humboldt University in Berlin and trained as a screenwriter at the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin . Since 1998 she is a freelance writer, writing in German. In 1999 she received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for Der Fall Ophelia , part of her first collection of short stories Seltsame Materie .
