for a pool or group of motor vehicles fleet vehicle unreferenced date November 2009 In neuroscience , a motor pool refers to a group of motor neurons motor Spinal nerves spinal neurons that innervate the same muscle . The biological significance of motor pool organization is in the fact that motor pools with many neurons produce finer movements. For example, the motor unit of muscles in the torso will control more muscle fibers and so cannot discriminate and selectively contract one particular fiber over another. In finger s, the muscles will have a higher proportion of neurons innervating similar muscles, thus allowing for more precise movements. 1. Motor system

Refimprove date October 2009 The motor system is the part of the central nervous system that is involved with movement. It consists of the Corticospinal tract pyramidal and extrapyramidal system . The motor pathway also called pyramidal tract or the corticospinal tract start in the motor center of the cerebral cortex . ref Rizzolatti G, Luppino G 2001 The Cortical Motor System. Neuron 31 889 901 http www.sciencedirect.com science article pii S0896627301004238 SD ref There are upper and lower motor neuron s in the corticospinal tract. The motor impulses originates in the Giant pyramidal cells or Betz cells of the motor area i.e. precentral gyrus of cerebral cortex. These are the upper motor neurons UMN of the corticospinal tract. The axon s of these cells pass in the depth of the cerebral cortex to the Corona radiata and then to the Internal Capsule passing through the posterior branch of internal capsule and continue to descend in the Midbrain and the Medulla Oblongata . In the lower part of Medulla oblongata 80 to 85 of these fibers decussate pass to the opposite side and descend in the White matter of the Lateral funiculus of the spinal cord on the opposite side. The remaining 15 to 20 pass to the same side. Fibers for the extremities Limb anatomy limb s pass 100 to the opposite side. The fibers of the corticospinal tract terminate at different levels in the Anterior horn of the Grey matter of the spinal cord. Here the Lower Motor Neurons LMN of the corticospinal cord are located. Peripheral motor nerve s carry the motor impulses from the anterior horn to the voluntary muscle s. 1. Pullback motor

A pullback motor also pull back or pull back is a simple clockwork motor used in toy car s. Pulling the car backward hence the name winds up an internal coil spring . When released, the car is propelled forward by the spring. Once the spring has unwound and the car is moving, the motor is disengaged by a clutch or ratchet and the car then rolls freely onward. ref name Darda, standard motor Cite web title Darda standard Mega motor url http www.onlytoys.com toystore.taf?do skudetail&sku D11713 publisher onlytoys.com ref Most of these cars are otherwise free rolling. Winding them up requires them to be pushed downwards, engaging the clutch. ref name Darda, standard motor As the motor is only engaged for winding whilst held down, the complete winding must be completed in one pass, unlike the Flywheel motor flywheel motor . A few motors have an internal one way clutch that allows winding with a back and forth motion. ref name Darda, standard motor Some pullback motors, usually intended for racing in pairs, have used a catch and release mechanism to retain their springs. These may be wound separately, then launched together by releasing their spring triggers. Darda toy Darda use such a mechanism for their Stop n Go motor. ref Cite web title Darda Stop n Go replacement motor url http www.onlytoys.com toystore.taf?do skudetail&sku D11714 publisher onlytoys.com ref This is pre wound, then releases automatically when shunted from behind. This allows relay race s to be set up with multiple cars. A few pullback motors are used in toys other than cars. The K Nex construction toy has such a motor, as have some later Meccano sets. The very simplest of these motors may use a stretched rubber band as a linear spring, rather than a coil spring. Beyond anatomical divisions, motor coordination studies often seek to explore one of the following questions What physics and mathematical modeling of the limb movement may be involved? The black section at the bottom contains the Epicyclic gearing planetary Reduction drive reduction gear , and the black object on top of the motor is the optical rotary encoder for position feedback. This is the steering actuator of a large robot vehicle. A servomotor is a motor which forms part of a servomechanism . The servomotor is paired with some type of encoder to provide position speed feedback. This feedback loop is used to provide precise control of the mechanical degree of freedom driven by the motor. A servomechanism may or may not use a servomotor. For example, a household furnace controlled by a thermostat is a servomechanism, because of the feedback and resulting error signal, yet there is no motor being controlled directly by the servomechanism. Servomotors are not the only means of providing precise control of motor output. A common alternative is a stepper motor . In a stepper motor, the input command specifies the desired angle of rotation, and the controller provides the corresponding sequence of commutations without the use of any feedback about the position of the system being driven. 1. Motor goal

A motor goal is a neurally planned motor outcome that is used to organize motor control . Motor goals are experimentally shown to exist since planned movements can when disrupted adjust to achieve their planned outcome. If, for example, a person makes a movement of their hand to touch or grasp something and unexpected their arm is pushed their brain automatically reorganizes the movement so it so achieves its intended aim. This also occurs if an arm is perturbed which results in an automatic correction that enables it to fulfill its planned spatial temporal target. ref Haggard P. Wing A. 1995 .
