Sinclair Oxford was a range of low cost scientific calculator s manufactured and sold by Sinclair Radionics in England from 1975 until 1976. The first model was the Oxford 100 , launched in Spring 1975 for GB 12.95 this model was based on the Gillette GPA from late 1974 that was made by Sinclair for Gillette brand Gillette in a slightly different case. Both the Gillette GPA and Oxford 100 models used 8 digit displays with red light emitting diode s LEDs , 4 functions, 9 volt PP3 batteries. Both models measured 73 x 155 x 34 mm 2.9 x 6.1 x 1.3 inches . All the Oxford models were similar in appearance the 150 was introduced in 1975 introducing the ability to calculate percentages and square roots. The Oxford 200 included memory and sold for 19.95. The Oxford 300 was a scientific model with a limited number of functions such as sin, cos, tan , which sold for 29.95, much lower than the competition. The last two models, the Oxford Scientific 1976 and Oxford Universal were the most advanced of the range.     Two ships of the Royal Navy have borne the name HMS Oxford , after the city of Oxford HMS Oxford 1656 6 i was a 26 gun Fifth Rate ship launched at Deptford in 1656. She was given to Col. It is published by TriMedia, who also publish other free newspapers including the Basingstoke Observer , Oxford Property Weekly and Auto Weekly . In December 2011 it was renamed the Oxfordshire Guardian in line with its two sister papers, launched in July 2011. Early History The paper was launched in January 1973 from an old toy factory in Cowley and was arguably one of the first free newspapers in the United Kingdom. It was later sold to a local publishing company, Goodhead Press, who subsequently sold the paper to Courier Newspapers Oxford Ltd in 1996 which continued to publish the paper alongside its own one, the South Oxfordshire Courier . Both and Courier and Journal subsequently became owned by Milestone Group in 2003.
