    Al Mu ayyad Muhammad died February 25, 1503 was an imam of the Zaidiyyah Zaidi state in Yemen who ruled in parts of the Yemeni highland including San a in 1462 1503. Repulsing the Tahirides He was a son of the former imam al Mansur an Nasir who died while imprisoned in Kawkaban in 1462. At this time the Yemeni highland was contested between several imams, most prominently al Mutawakkil al Mutahhar who lost San a to the Tahiride Dynasty in July 1462. The Tahirides were a Sunni dynasty based in Zabid and Ta izz in the lowland.     Qutb al Din Muhammad died 1346 was the Mihrabanid malik of Sistan from 1330 until his death. He was the son of Rukn al Din Mahmud . Biography Qutb al Din was appointed malik in December of 1330 by the notables of Sistan following the death of his uncle, Nusrat al Din Muhammad . A deeply religious man, he patronized the religious figures of Sistan and fed travelers and the poor. He also distributed the fortresses of the province to members of his family. During Qutb al Din s reign the central Ilkhanid government in Soltaniyeh collapsed Sistan s distance from the Ilkhanid center allowed it to mostly avoid the wars that plagued Iran Persia during this time. Under Qutb al Din Sistan did face one foreign invasion, by the Kartid malik Mu izz al Din Husayn, in 1333 or 1334 after he was invited by the Mihrabanid s opponents. Mu izz al Din decided to end the campaign after heeding the counsel of a Sufi adherent. In 1346 Qutb al Din was killed by a Plague disease plague , possibly the Black Plague .     Al Mu ayyad Muhammad II 1634 April 27, 1686 was an Imam of Yemen who ruled in 1681 1686. He belonged to the Qasimid family which descended from the Prophet Muhammad and dominated the Zaidiyyah Zaidi imamate in 1597 1962. Muhammad was a son of the imam al Mutawakkil Isma il . When his cousin and predecessor al Mahdi Ahmad died in 1681, a number of Qasimids laid claim to the imamate. Through the diplomatic efforts of the ulema the dispute was settled without bloodshed, and al Mu ayyad Muhammad II gained power. He first resided in San a , but later moved to Dawran. During his short reign the territory of the Zaidi state founded by his grandfather began to shrink.
