The Narrative Corpse edited by Art Spiegelman was a graphic chain story by 69 artists based on Le Cadavre Exquis see Exquisite Corpse , a popular game played by Andr Breton and his Surrealism Surrealist friends to break free from the constraints of rational thought. The Graphic novel had a limited run in 1995 of 9500 copies and was the winner of the 1996 Firecracker Alternative Book Award for Best Graphic Novel. The Creative Process The idea was first conceived of, in May, 1990, as a project for RAW magazine RAW . An artist would begin the story with three black and white comic book panels, starring an innocent stick figure named Sticky. This artist passes his three panels on to the next artist who continued the story in any manner he wanted with three more panels. The next artist received only this artists part of the story, and so on. To expedite the project, two strands were started simultaneously, one in New York by R. Sikoryak , the second in London by Savage Pencil . Nevertheless, the project kept growing outliving RAW itself, which ceased publication in 1991 until it was brought to an end five years after its inception. A story environment is a physical, adaptive, augmented 3D computer graphics 3D reality or virtual space that can become host to narrative s. Distinct from a story world , these environments can be in close proximity and even overlapping, and may have quite different narrative themes. The stories may be heavily Script performing arts script ed, or be created and shared by the space s users. A story environment has potentially five levels Level 1 Shared Inhabitants create their own stories and shared mythology in a non specific narrative space. Post congregational narrative is a term used by some who describe themselves as followers of Christ Christians to refer to the experience of intentionally pursuing their faith outside the traditional congregational setting. The word narrative in this sense refers to their stories or journeys, both individually and collectively. Likewise, congregational narrative had become a term that many of these people had used to describe traditional Church body church life in their assertions that it wasn t necessarily the only way to follow Christ . Adherents believe they are no less intentional about following Christ and connecting to other Christians, and in many cases, have created other ways of connecting, sometimes functioning over long distances through the internet. Some of the good works of the traditional congregation are replicated in these more loose associations. Meetings, when they occur are more often impromptu. They also claim that personal relationships are the starting point of their connection to the church, rather than personal relationships being a product of a connection with a traditional congregation. Historically, the church has been doubtful of the possibility of being a follower of Christ and not connecting to a community of believers.
