His first published story was The Tower of Evil, written in collaboration with Arthur Leo Zagat and appearing in the Summer 1930 issue of Wonder Stories Quarterly . Schachner, who was trained as a lawyer and a chemist, achieved his greatest success writing biographies of early American historical figures, after about a decade of writing science fiction short stories. Schachner was one of Isaac Asimov s favorite authors. Biography Nat was born in Bangkok and studied at Bangkok Christian College . He started learning piano at the age of nine and became a student of Pantipa Treepoonpol. He won the first prize in the first Siam Music Festival in 1971 when he was 16. For college, he attended Chulalongkorn University , and graduated with a degree from the Faculty of Architecture . He continued with music for his graduate studies, attending Goldsmiths, University of London Goldsmiths College in London . He won a scholarship and a British Council support grant for further study in Piano Performance at the University of Reading . He also received a grant from H.H. Princess Sudasiri Sobha . He returned to Thailand in 1983 and set up his own studio and music school. In addition to teaching and composing, he regularly gives concerts, both in Thailand and abroad. Nathaniel Edward Story August 8, 1904, Oak Station, Kentucky November 21, 1968, Evansville, Indiana was an American jazz trombonist. Story played on riverboat s on the Mississippi River Mississippi with Fate Marable and Floyd Campbell in the 1920s, and played with the Jones and Collins Astoria Hot Eight in 1928. He moved to New York City in the 1930s, working with Luis Russell 1934 , Sam Wooding 1934 , and Chick Webb 1936 39 . After Webb s death he remained in the orchestra under the direction of Ella Fitzgerald , but left in 1940. History Early life Nat Reeves was first introduced to electric bass by his grandfather, Russell Jackson, at the age of 16.
