orphan date July 2009 In agriculture, cultural methods are practices used to enhance crop and livestock health and prevent weed, pest or disease problems without the use of chemical substances. Examples include the selection of appropriate varieties and planting sites selection of appropriate breeds of livestock providing livestock facilities designed to meet requirements of species or type of livestock proper timing and density of plantings irrigation and extending a growing season by manipulating the microclimate with green houses, cold frames, or wind breaks. History 1.0 Pre chemical fertilizer & pesticide In this period, agriculture is an important part of societies. Agricultural output equal to the strength of country, because the productive power that can be spared is directly proportional to the army size that can be raise by that country and the produces can use to support the army in sustained operation. Care was taken to recycle resources, and soil fertility is critical to a successful agricultural economy. 1.1 Cultural methods can be divided into active composting and fertilizing, and slash and burn farming but actually in society that really know to rest their land and let the wild plant to restore the soil, this is more than slash and burn . In densely populated area, fields are fertilized with green manure, organic waste of different source, and kitchen waste, and ashes. Refimprove date February 2008 Mill s Methods are five methods of Inductive reasoning induction described by philosopher John Stuart Mill in his 1843 book A System of Logic . They are intended to illuminate issues of Causality causation . Direct method of agreement If two or more instances of the phenomenon under investigation have only one circumstance in common, the circumstance in which alone all the instances agree, is the cause or effect of the given phenomenon. For a property to be a Necessary and sufficient conditions necessary condition it must always be present if the effect is present. Since this is so, then we are interested in looking at cases where the effect is present and taking note of which properties, among those considered to be possible necessary conditions are present and which are absent. Obviously, any properties which are absent when the effect is present cannot be necessary conditions for the effect. Symbolically, the method of agreement can be represented as A B C D occur together with w x y z A E F G occur together with w t u v Therefore A is the cause of w. Method of difference This section is linked from Corroborating evidence If an instance in which the phenomenon under investigation occurs, and an instance in which it does not occur, have every circumstance in common save one, that one occurring only in the former the circumstance in which alone the two instances differ, is the effect, or the cause, or an indispensable part of the cause, of the phenomenon. Methods Time Measurement MTM is a predetermined motion time system that is used primarily in industrial settings to analyse the methods used to perform any manual operation or task and, as a product of that analysis, set the standard time manufacturing standard time in which a worker should complete that task. History The basic MTM data was developed by HB Maynard , JL Schwab and GJ Stegemerten of the Methods Engineering Council during a consultancy assignment at the Westinghouse Brake and Signal Corporation , USA in the 1940s. This data and the application rules for the MTM system were refined, extended, defined, industrially tested and documented as a result of further work in later years. In 1948, Maynard, Stegemerten and Schwab published the book Methods Time Measurement giving full details of the development of the MTM system and its application rules. The use of MTM spread, firstly in the USA and then to other industrialised countries. In 1951 the USA Canada MTM Association for Standards and Research was formed by MTM Users. The system originators then assigned the MTM copyrights to the MTM Association. Other national MTM Associations were founded and, at a meeting in Paris in 1957, it was decided to form an International MTM Directorate IMD to co ordinate the work of National Associations. National MTM Association members of IMD now hold the MTM copyright s for their territorial areas. Other MTM based systems have since been developed. MTM 2, a second generation system was developed under IMD auspices in 1965 MTM 3, a further simplification, was developed in 1970. The original MTM system is now commonly referred to as MTM 1. Engineering Methods, has been invented, so the nature working method engineer has attracted people s attention, respect and broad application. Moreover, nature working method engineer notice the importance ...Ecological Engineering Methods also known as Biological Engineering or ECO Engineering is when researchers try to tap biologically based energy sources. Some projects include engineering new organisms that produce hydrogen from water and sunlight in environmentally friendly ways with no waste products, and transforming the way man interacts with the environment. One of the more familiar techniques of ECO Engineering is Bioremediation . Using oil eating bacteria created by Eco Engineering, Bioremidiation is applied to oil spills and chemical spills worldwide. Primary and Secondary methods of producing energy We have to distinguish between Primary and Secondary methods of producing energy. Making hydrogen from water by electrolysis will use more energy than is available in the hydrogen, because processing always has nonzero wastage . When the hydrogen is produced there are all the emissions for generating electricity from fossil fuels for electrolysis, but when the hydrogen is used in automobiles as fuel the automobiles will emit harmless water vapour. If power is made from fossil fuels, then the hydrogen automobile fuel, as a whole, causes even more emissions than directly burning fossil fuels in automobiles. Non chemical Primary fuel is less polluting The trick is that if we use non chemical Primary fuels, like Solar energy or Nuclear energy, then the complete process is less polluting. Emissions versus hydrogen As long as fossil fuels are used for producing hydrogen, the only benefit is that, although it produces even more emissions, these emissions are near Power Generating Stations, which can be kept away from urban areas.
