The New Zealand Drug Foundation is a non government body that aims to prevent and reduce social, health and economic harms caused by both legal and illegal drugs in New Zealand. The Foundation has been at the forefront of major alcohol and other drug policy debates in New Zealand and overseas for over 18 years. During that time it has demonstrated a strong commitment to advocating policies and practices based on the best evidence available. It is based in Wellington , New Zealand . Principles The New Zealand Drug Foundation is committed to reducing and preventing the harm caused by drugs in New Zealand. This includes social and health harms caused by legal drugs, such as tobacco and alcohol, as well as illegal drugs, such as cannabis. Its strategies to reduce drug harm are based on principles of moderation in the use of alcohol and ensuring that any illicit drugs, if used, are used safely. The foundation is focused on advocating for policies and services that build a healthy society where there is the least possible harm from drug use in New Zealand. The Foundation recognises that drugs, legal and illegal, are a part of everyday life experience. Harms from drugs often include injury, disease, social, personal and financial problems and a reduced quality of life. Harms to society include unsafe communities, increased need for law enforcement, and high health and economic costs. The Foundation asserts that efforts to control or reduce the harm from tobacco, alcohol and illicit drugs must be evidence based, socially just and maintain the rights of individuals and the aspirations of communities. Multiple issues unreferenced July 2011 cleanup October 2007 orphan February 2009 Application Fabrication refers to the process where computer applications are built by searching, matching, customizing, morphing, gluing, and hosting existing applications together. We have seen generations and generations of operating systems out there, that we keep upgrading our computers with, but we seldom directly use these operating systems. What we need is computer applications that really help in our personal information management, business processes, etc. In the open source era, where you can easily find hundreds of say content management systems, or customer relation management system, or human resource systems, we can either use them alone, or can glue them together via SOAP, XML, or other glueware, to fabricate new applications. In the eighties, we call that system integration, and now with the advances of technologies, multicore CPUs, open source foundries, virtual machine technologies, a proliferation of glueware technologies and standards, that we can actually fabricate more and more applications based on an evolving layers of existing applications and the new apps can then feed back into the ecosystem for recycling. There is earlier citation for Business Application Fabrication http www.xicommunity.ca Portal Portals 57ad7180 c5e7 49f5 b282 c6475cdb7ee7 WhatisXICommunityandXIFactory.pdf which largely refers to how to build application using Microsoft .Net application development environment only, and does not have the glue concept for a variety of large application objects systems. It seems natural we started developing software independently by weaving lines and lines of codes together, to the era where we group together independent developers via forges like http www.sourceforge.net , and then the resulting applications being fabricated together to create new applications.
