Early years Nieves family moved to New York City from Puerto Rico in search of a better way of life. They settled down in the Bronx , New York City where she was born and where she received her primary and secondary education. Her parents separated and she and her four siblings were raised by her mother, whom she considers the main inspiration in her life.
