Unreferenced date December 2009 Kitwood BoysSchool was a Secondary modern school for boys which began life in the early 1950s as part of the new Clement Attlee Attlee Labour government s education programme as did the nearby Kitwood Girls School . Initially the school provided an education to those not attaining higher Grammar School standards. Despite a brief period in the late 70s and early 1980s which gave the school a bad name, the school was merged with the girls school in 1993 and lost many of its staff. The merged school is called Haven High Technology College Haven High and located on the site of the old girls school. Originally the co educational primary school excluded natives, permitting only the children of white settlers in Kenya to entroll. For three years, from 1960 to 1963, it was called Francis Scott High School, serving as a junior secondary school before serving for one year as a technical secondary school for boys in 1964. In 1965, it was opened to female students again.The school s perfomance has ever seen been declining.The government has been doing nothing to regain its lost glory. NAKURU HIGH for a long time has been holding on the tail in the national school structure this this is bealived to be due to lack of teachers devotion and admission of pupils with low marks .After a long time the government of kenya has decided to help regain its lost glory and its first move was in 2008 when the school was divided, with female students being filtered into the Nakura Girls High School and the boys side has shown sings of improvement headed to ragain its lost glory.
